The city of Sindelfingen

Sindelfingen is a large district town in the state of Baden-Württemberg, southwest of Stuttgart.
It is the largest town in the district of Böblingen and, together with its southern neighbor Böblingen, forms the center for the surrounding communities.

The city is characterized by the automotive industry, especially the Mercedes-Benz plant in Sindelfingen. With around 25,000 employees and a further 6,000 employees in the Mercedes-Benz Cars passenger car development department, which is also based at the site, it is the Daimler AG's largest automobile plant worldwide. The new airfield district, a joint project between the towns of Sindelfingen and Böblingen, has been under construction for several years on the site of the former Böblingen airfield. Two thirds of the district will be located in Böblingen, the remaining third in Sindelfingen. The entire construction period is scheduled to last until 2031.
