With its 3-section telescopic boom, the Merlo Roto 40.16 offers a flexible reach and enables loads to be positioned precisely. The hydraulically controlled quick-change system type “ZM2” enables quick and easy replacement of implements directly from the cab. The 4 independently operated stabilisers of the Merlo Roto 40.16 offer the functions of lowering and lifting to ensure a safe and stable working environment. With a rotatable crane boom of 415° and a double-ball bearing design, this telescopic handler enables precise and smooth rotation. The hydraulic steering of the Merlo Roto 40.16 offers 3 steering modes: all-wheel steering, front-wheel steering and crab steering. This enables easy and flexible manoeuvrability in different working environments. With permanent all-wheel drive, a fixed front axle and an oscillating and lockable rear axle, the telescopic handler offers optimum traction and manoeuvrability on different surfaces.

The brake system of the Merlo Roto 40.16 has disc brakes on all 4 drive shafts and an automatic parking brake when the engine is at a standstill. This ensures safe braking performance and a reliable parking function. The frame of the telescopic handler is made of high-strength steel and offers a robust design for reliable use in demanding working environments. The hydraulic system of the Merlo Roto 40.16 includes a LOAD SENSING pump with a total flow rate of 103.5 l/min and a working pressure of 250 bar. The flow-sharing control block enables precise control of the hydraulic functions. The hydraulic oil used is mineral and of type HVI 46. The electrical equipment includes a 12-volt battery with 160 Ah and a powerful 120A alternator. The stabilisation control of the Merlo Roto 40.16 is provided by an audio-visual signal and an overload cut-out on both the wheels and the outriggers. This ensures safety during operation.
