Rent construction machinery in Munich – efficient solutions for your construction site

Rent construction machinery in Munich – efficient solutions for your construction site

Munich is building. The second S-Bahn trunk line is extending its tunnels right across the city centre, new high-rises and concert halls are being built in Werksviertel-Mitte near the Ostbahnhof, one of Bavaria's largest new-build quarters is growing in Freiham, and research, logistics and industrial areas are becoming denser in Garching, Hallbergmoos and Aschheim. Added to this is the density of refurbishment in the old town and the maintenance cycles of large industrial sites – BMW in Milbertshofen and Allach, MAN, Siemens, plus the Munich trade fair, the Allianz Arena, the Olympic facilities and the MUC airport site.

Each of these tasks calls for a different construction machine. Luibl Rental & Sales supplies them – from a rental fleet that covers everything from the mini excavator for courtyard excavation work to the roto telehandler with 35 m lifting height for industrial installations. With our own low-loader logistics daily on the A92 and A94 towards Munich, with Stage V machines for Munich's low-emission zone and with a single point of contact for the entire equipment range.

Our rental fleet for Munich: from telehandlers to earthmoving

Which machine suits which task is decided by a few technical parameters: lifting height or digging depth, load capacity, reach, drive type, ground pressure and clearance height. In a city like Munich, a fourth factor almost always comes into play: the space on site.

Renting telehandlers in Munich – fixed and rotating

Telehandlers are the all-purpose machines of the modern construction site. They often replace several specialised machines at once – forklift, crane and work platform in one. For major Munich projects such as Freiham, Werksviertel-Mitte or the research campuses in Garching, that is a considerable efficiency lever.

What is available in the rental fleet:

  • Fixed telehandlers: lifting heights up to 19 m, reaches up to 15 m. Example models from the rental fleet are the Merlo P 40 and the Merlo Roto 40.18S. The standard solution for construction logistics, structural steelwork and hall assembly. Brands: Manitou, Merlo, JCB.

  • Roto telehandlers (rotating): 360° superstructure rotation, lifting heights from 16 m to 35 m. With a basket attachment they replace a work platform; with a winch they work as a crane – one machine, three functions. Brands: Magni, Manitou, Merlo.

  • Heavy-duty telehandlers: load capacities up to 20,000 kg, for example in plant construction, machine relocations and industrial assembly in Milbertshofen or Allach.

  • Electric telehandlers: the emission-free variant for food production, the pharmaceutical industry and all indoor applications with emission requirements.

  • All-wheel drive with crab steering: four-wheel steering with three selectable steering modes (front axle, all-wheel steering, crab steering) – decisive on narrow Munich new-build sites, for example when handling material between existing buildings.

Roto telehandlers prove their worth especially in concrete construction, industrial plant construction, special civil engineering and when erecting noise-protection walls – applications that occur regularly in the greater Munich area.

Work platforms and boom lifts for Munich urban areas

Where loads must not be carried but lifted, work platforms take over the work at height. The rental fleet covers working heights of up to 58 m and lateral reaches of up to 24 m.

The most important designs for Munich:

  • Electric scissor lifts: emission-free, low-noise, with non-marking tyres – ideal for hall maintenance at the Munich trade fair (Riem) and in the logistics centres around Aschheim, Kirchheim and Feldkirchen.

  • Diesel rough-terrain scissor lifts: working heights up to 34 m, load capacity up to 1,000 kg, gradeability up to 45 % – for steel assembly and outdoor work on unpaved large construction sites.

  • Telescopic and articulating boom lifts: working heights up to 58 m. The articulation point of the articulating lifts allows obstacles to be reached over – often the only practical solution in Munich industrial halls, for bridge maintenance and for assembly work above existing facilities.

  • Hybrid articulating boom lifts: emission-free for hall operation, diesel drive for outdoor work on the same day – an efficiency lever on mixed refurbishment projects in the north of Munich.

  • Truck-mounted work platforms: quick relocation between several sites, suitable for tree care, advertising-installation maintenance and roof refurbishment in Bogenhausen, Schwabing or the Maxvorstadt.

  • High-rack scissor lifts: special machines with 22 m, 28 m and 33 m working height for modern logistics centres with high racking systems.

Brand selection in the Munich rental fleet: Genie as the main brand, complemented by JLG, Haulotte, Niftylift, Manitou, Palfinger, Ruthmann, CTE; in the specialist segment KB Lift, PB Lifttechnik, HAB and Holland Lift.

Excavators and wheel loaders for civil engineering in Upper Bavaria

For the development of new residential areas in Freiham, Aubing or the southern commuter belt, for gardening and landscaping in Starnberg and Tutzing or for civil and road construction in Erding and Dachau, excavators and wheel loaders are available in various size classes.

What you can hire from Luibl Rental:

  • Mini excavators (1–2 t): with rubber tracks to protect asphalt, paving and screed, adjustable track width, dozer blade and quick-change system. Application: gardening, drainage, utility lines, foundation excavation. Transport with trailer and car possible – ideal for the narrow Munich city centre.

  • Crawler excavators / compact excavators (3.5–5 t): lifting height 5–6 m, lateral reach approx. 5 m, monoblock swing boom, dozer blade, high stability. Application: civil engineering, road construction, confined spaces.

  • Heavy crawler excavators: from the special-equipment portfolio, the Doosan crawler excavator with a 30-tonne operating weight is available for large projects with a high volume of excavation – development, industrial excavation, special civil engineering.

  • Wheel loaders: various bucket capacities and load capacities for material transport, yard operations and site logistics.

  • Yard loaders and grabs: agile solutions for sand, gravel, rubble, wood and agricultural applications.

  • Attachments: hydraulic hammer, buckets, forks, grabs – available for hire on request for the respective machine. Quick-change systems reduce set-up times on site.

Ground pressure, breakout force and tear-out force are the decisive selection criteria for earthmoving machines. For our recommendation we rely on the manufacturers' technical data sheets and match the machine to the ground, excavation volume and site access – for example on sensitive ground at the trade-fair grounds in Riem, where choosing the right stabilisation determines the permissible axle loads.

Forklifts and heavy-duty forklifts for logistics and industry

Around Munich Airport, in the logistics hubs of Kirchheim, Feldkirchen and Maisach, and at the Milbertshofen and Allach industrial sites, a smooth flow of goods is decisive. The rental fleet comprises:

  • Industrial forklifts in all drive types: electric for halls and cleanroom logistics, gas for mixed indoor/outdoor operation, diesel for purely outdoor applications.

  • Rough-terrain forklifts: with an oscillating axle and all-wheel drive for unpaved ground on construction sites.

  • Heavy-duty forklifts: load capacities up to 16 t for machine, plant and steel construction – relevant in Munich for plant relocations and industrial assembly.

  • High lift trucks: for warehouse logistics in narrow aisles.

Cranes and special equipment

For occasional lifting work without a telehandler hybrid solution, the rental fleet carries mobile cranes and mini cranes. Both are used when a telehandler reaches its limits – for example, for precise lifting in the confined courtyards of the Maxvorstadt or for very high individual loads in industrial assembly.

Logistics service: we deliver construction machinery directly to all Munich districts

A rental machine is only as good as its availability on the day of use. Luibl Rental operates its own low-loader fleet and is therefore independent of external hauliers. Daily routes run via the A92 and A94 towards Munich – this means short delivery times and plannable transport flat rates.

Delivery area Munich and surroundings: the urban area including all districts, the entire Mittlerer Ring, the industrial and research campuses Garching, Hallbergmoos, Unterschleißheim, Aschheim, Kirchheim, Feldkirchen, Maisach. In the southern surroundings Starnberg, Pullach, Grünwald; in the north Freising and the airport area; in the east Erding, Markt Schwaben; in the west Fürstenfeldbruck, Germering, Dachau. Connections via the A8, A9, A92, A94, A95 and A96.

Practical example: During a refurbishment in the Maxvorstadt with an extremely narrow courtyard entrance, the use of a classic mobile crane was not possible. A roto telehandler with 25 m lifting height was scheduled from the rental fleet. The machine drove through the narrow gateway, rotated the superstructure through 360 degrees and lifted the loads precisely over the courtyard building into the inner courtyard. One machine thus replaced a mobile crane and a work platform and reduced the logistics effort to a single delivery day.

Inner-city delivery: For deliveries within the Mittlerer Ring, we coordinate delivery time windows with the site manager. Where a special-use permit is required – for example for a truck-mounted platform on public ground – we provide the technical data for the application to the City of Munich.

Service during the rental period: On request, technicians can be deployed on site. Repairs are carried out directly on the construction site wherever possible; where that is not practical, the machine is replaced promptly. For long-term rentals over several months, UVV inspection and annual maintenance are included in the terms.
