Technical Advantages of Fixed Telehandlers
Compared to rotating models, the fixed design offers a high degree of stability and lifting power. By using various attachments, a fixed telehandler combines the functions of a forklift, wheel loader and mobile crane in a single machine – with load capacities from 1,250 to 16,000 kg, depending on the model. Thanks to the robust single-piece chassis and a low centre of gravity, fixed telehandlers offer excellent stability. Modern hydraulic systems enable precise work even when heavy loads hang from the fully extended telescopic boom. Many models in our fleet feature permanent all-wheel drive and three steering modes (two-wheel, four-wheel and crab steering). This allows manoeuvring in tight spaces, which is a particular advantage in industrial halls or densely built urban projects.
Brands in Our Rental Fleet: Manitou, Merlo, Magni and Genie
- Manitou: a broad model range for construction and industry, known for reliability in continuous operation.
- Merlo: patented Panoramic cab for wide all-round visibility – an important safety factor when distributing materials on cluttered construction sites.
- Genie: the GTH series is especially compact and suited to use in underground car parks or narrow aisles.
- Magni: the TH series offers digital assistance systems and automatic attachment recognition for demanding lifting tasks, such as in bridge or power plant construction.
Renting a fixed Magni telehandler gives you access to highly developed lifting technology for the most demanding tasks. If your project requires continuous 360° operation without repositioning the chassis, it is often more economical to rent a rotating telehandler instead. For load capacities above 16 t, a heavy-duty telehandler is recommended.
Case Study: Logistics Solutions in Warehouse Construction
A fixed telehandler from Luibl Rental supported the construction of a logistics warehouse covering more than 10,000 m² of floor space. The challenge lay in installing heavy precast concrete elements and steel beams on a partly uneven surface. By using pallet forks and an additional lattice jib, the telehandler handled both unloading the trucks and precisely lifting the beams into the roof structure. Forgoing a stationary tower crane reduced overall costs and shortened assembly time.
Safety and Accident-Prevention Inspection (UVV)
Every fixed telehandler that leaves our rental fleet undergoes an inspection cycle and holds a valid accident-prevention inspection (UVV) in accordance with DGUV 308-009. The fleet is equipped with load moment limiters (LMB) that provide audible and visual warnings before critical operating conditions are reached.
