Rent Heavy Duty Telehandlers!
Move up to 50 tons with heavy-duty telehandlers. Ideal for industrial and port logistics. Powerful machines for rent at Luibl Rental.
Rent Heavy Duty Telehandlers!
Heavy-duty telehandlers are used whenever heavy machinery and components need to be moved safely and positioned with precision. Typical applications include machine relocation, plant and steel construction, and port and industrial logistics. Beyond load capacity, choosing the right model depends above all on load center of gravity, lift height, reach, attachment, ground conditions, and available space. Luibl provides expert support in selecting the right equipment and arranges delivery with its own low-loader fleet – throughout Germany and, on request, across Europe.
The rental fleet: 7 models from Merlo and Manitou
While standard telehandlers typically reach their capacity limit at 5 to 6 tonnes, Luibl Rental offers heavy-duty telehandlers with load capacities from 7,200 to 33,000 kg. Delivery is handled via our own low-loader fleet – throughout Germany and, on request, across Europe. Luibl keeps the following heavy-duty telehandlers available for rent – all serviced, fully fuelled, and with current inspection certificates:
- Merlo P. 72.10 – 7,200 kg | 9.40 m lift height | 5.20 m reach | 5.35 × 2.33 × 2.44 m
- Merlo P. 120.10 HM – 12,000 kg | 9.80 m lift height | 5.30 m reach
- Manitou MHT 10120 – 12,000 kg | 9.62 m lift height | 5.35 m reach | 5.95 × 2.50 × 2.90 m
- Manitou MHT 10160 – 16,000 kg | 9.60 m lift height | 5.20 m reach | 6.15 × 2.48 × 2.99 m
- Manitou MHT 10200 ST5 – 19,999 kg | 9.70 m lift height | 5.40 m reach | 6.70 × 2.58 × 2.98 m
- Manitou MHT 11250 ST5 – 24,999 kg | 10.60 m lift height | 6.00 m reach
- Manitou MHT 12330 – 33,000 kg | 11.92 m lift height | 6.60 m reach | 8.37 × 2.98 × 3.60 m
All units leave our depot in Passau after a load-moment limiter (LML) load test. Inspection certificates, handover protocols, and technical data sheets on ground bearing pressure are available on request.
Manitou MHT: heavy loads on rough terrain
Not every heavy-duty job takes place on a level warehouse floor. In bridge construction, mining, or when handling wind-turbine components, the ground is often the biggest structural challenge. The Manitou MHT series at Luibl Rental features permanent all-wheel drive, three steering modes, and high ground clearance, moving loads of up to 33 tonnes even on unpaved terrain.
Hydrostatic power transmission ensures smooth, jerk-free starts under full load – a key factor when manoeuvring heavy loads to within centimetres of precision on gradients.
Merlo P series: compact heavy-duty capability for halls and confined spaces
The Merlo P models cover the lower load-capacity range of the heavy-duty fleet (7,200–12,000 kg) and, thanks to their more compact dimensions, are well suited to applications with limited space, such as factory halls or machine relocation projects.
Applications: where heavy-duty telehandlers prove their worth
Applications for heavy-duty telehandlers
-
Heavy industry and plant assembly: precisely positioning transformers, presses, and reactor components
-
Wind power and energy projects: manoeuvring nacelles, rotor blades, and tower sections along tight access routes around foundations
-
Bridge and civil engineering: placing precast elements and steel girders – often without an additional mobile crane
-
Port logistics and cargo handling: moving heavy steel sections in confined areas without fixed crane runways
-
Tandem-lift operations: two heavy-duty telehandlers coordinated together – for loads a single machine cannot handle alone
Case study: the tandem-lift solution
In a port logistics project, 20-tonne steel sections had to be moved. Instead of setting up a 300-tonne mobile crane, we opted for the coordinated use of two heavy-duty telehandlers in a tandem lift. Radio remote control allowed a single banksman to keep both machines in view. The result: cost savings compared with crane hire, and both telehandlers remained available for further tasks on site after the load was set down.
Safety: ground bearing pressure, LML, and operator duties
At loads above 10,000 kg, both components and ground are subject to high stress. On request, we provide the technical data sheet on ground bearing pressure and review support loads with you in advance. Operator duties under the German Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health (BetrSichV):
-
Operators must be at least 18 years old, hold a valid telehandler operator's licence in accordance with DGUV Grundsatz 308-009, and be authorised in writing by the employer
-
Check the load chart before every lift – mandatory for heavy loads
-
Carry out a risk assessment, including a ground survey, before start-up (load-bearing ground required: asphalt, concrete, or heavily compacted gravel; for soft ground, check whether trackway panels are needed)
-
On public roads: clarify road traffic authorisation (StVZO) in advance
Delivery via our own low-loader fleet
Heavy-duty telehandlers with unladen weights of up to 49 tonnes require specialised transport. Luibl operates its own low-loader fleet, designed specifically for transporting this class of machine – including coordination of the necessary special transport permits:
-
On-time delivery directly to the construction site or company premises
-
Collection at the end of the rental period included – no third-party haulier required
-
Delivery throughout Germany; on request, across Europe via our network of more than 200 locations
-
Oversize and heavy-load transport permits are coordinated by us
