In a modern logistics centre near Leipzig, the PB S225-12ES enabled maintenance work at 22 metres height in an aisle width of only 1.40 metres. Conventional scissor lifts would not have met this combination of aisle width and working height – the project would have had to rely on a climbing solution or elaborate rack dismantling.

• Design feature: patented scissor geometry with increased rigidity for minimal deflection at maximum lifting height

• Application scenario: sprinkler-system maintenance, ventilation cleaning and fire-protection installation in high-bay warehouses of class 4+ (over 20 m storage height). The 900 kg load capacity allows the transport of spare parts, tools and two technicians in a single lift.

In logistics, it is rarely about a single technician with hand tools. Fire-protection installations require pipe sections, fittings and assembly tools on the platform. Sprinkler work at 20+ metres height means ladders, hoses and several specialists at the same time. In this context, a load capacity of 900 kg is not a reserve – it is an operational necessity.

PB S-series models achieve these load capacities without increasing the track width. The vertical extension of the scissor transfers the load vertically upwards, without lateral force components that would impair stability in narrow aisles. Automatic levelling ensures that the machine can be operated safely even on slightly uneven hall-floor areas – expansion joints, drainage channels, minor gradient sections – without spreader plates.

Three technical properties make the PB rental solution concretely more economical for logistics centres than the alternatives:

Compactness without sacrificing load capacity: Other narrow scissor lifts reach the 1.22 m track width but reduce the load capacity to 450–500 kg to do so. The PB S series maintains both – narrow-aisle capability and 900 kg load capacity – in a single machine. Fewer lifts, shorter project duration.

Electric drive for shift operation: PB platforms are designed for high cycle durability. The battery capacity is designed for complete work shifts – no unplanned charging stops during an ongoing fire-protection installation. The electric motor runs emission-free and low-noise, which allows parallel operation alongside ongoing warehouse activity.

Platform extension without repositioning the machine: The extendable platform extension enlarges the working area laterally without having to reposition the machine. In a narrow aisle, repositioning a platform at 20+ metres lifting height is a matter of time and safety. The extension replaces several position changes with a single lever movement.

All models are inspected and certified in accordance with DIN EN 280 (mobile elevating work platforms – calculations, stability, construction). Valid UVV inspection certificates are supplied with every delivery.

Automatic levelling: The drive system detects ground unevenness and compensates for it without the operator having to intervene manually. For hall-floor areas with changing conditions – typical in logistics centres with vehicle traffic and expansion joints – this is an active safety function, not just comfort.

Proportional control: The travel movement responds proportionally to the lever position – slow lever deflection means slow travel, even when the battery is fully charged. In narrow aisles at 20 metres height, sensitive control is not an optional feature but safety-relevant. A machine without proportional control responds too abruptly in such situations.

Non-marking tyres: PB S-series models come with non-marking tyres as standard. Epoxy and polyurethane coatings on high-bay warehouse floors remain undamaged – no cleaning costs after the rental period, no queries about floor damage on return.

Battery capacity for full shifts: PB platforms are designed for multi-shift operation. The battery capacity allows a complete 8-hour shift without intermediate charging, even with frequent lift cycles at great heights.
