Rent High Rack Scissor Lifts!
High-bay warehouses have their own physics: aisles under one metre wide, floors with defined point-load limits, racking reaching double-digit metre heights, and fire suppression systems that turn every metre of platform space into a challenge. Standard scissor lifts aren't built for this environment. High-rack scissor lifts are.
Luibl rents narrow-aisle scissor lifts from Holland Lift, Magni, PB Lifttechnik and HAB with working heights from 18.5 m to 33 m and widths starting at 0.76 m – exclusively with electric drive and non-marking tyres.
What sets high-rack scissor lifts apart from standard machines
A typical indoor electric scissor lift has a platform width of 0.80 m to 1.20 m and reaches a maximum height of 12 m. That's enough for hall assembly work or building maintenance – but not for the demands of an automated high-bay warehouse.
High-rack scissor lifts solve four specific problems at once:
Extreme narrowness at great height. The Holland Lift HL330 E14 4WDS reaches 33 m working height with a machine width of just 1.40 m. Machines in the HL285-class travel through aisles from 1.50 m at 28.2 m working height. Smaller models such as the Holland Lift N-165EL (18.5 m) come in at just 0.76 m wide.
Travelling under load at full height. In high-bay warehouses, mobility while fully extended isn't a convenience – it's an operating mode. Maintenance teams travel along entire rows of racking without lowering the platform in between. This capability significantly cuts the time spent working across the floor.
Load capacities for heavy tools and materials. Models such as the Magni ES3225RT or the HAB S225-24 E4WDS carry 750 kg to 1,000 kg on the platform. Anyone replacing sprinkler heads, swapping conveyor components, or carrying heavy tools needs that reserve capacity.
Emission-free operation on sensitive floors. High-bay warehouses often have coated or sealed industrial floors. Non-marking tyres leave no abrasion marks. Electric drive means no exhaust, no odour nuisance, and no increased CO₂ level in enclosed halls.
The fleet: models and technical data at a glance
Luibl maintains one of the largest rental fleets for high-rack scissor lifts in the DACH region. The available models cover all relevant height and width classes.
Holland Lift – the benchmark for narrow-aisle stability
Among logistics planners, Holland Lift is the reference brand when it comes to great heights and maximum stability. The Dutch-built machines are designed for continuous use in high-bay warehouses – with a chassis that works precisely even on uneven industrial floors.
The HL330 E14 4WDS is the flagship model: 33 m working height, 6.40 m × 1.40 m platform, 600 kg load capacity, electric drive. It fits through aisles from 1.60 m wide, making it the choice for high-bay warehouses with standardised narrow-aisle systems.
The HL285 E13 4WDS covers the 28 m class: 28.2 m working height, 5.41 m platform depth, 750 kg load capacity at 1.30 m machine width. For sites that don't need 33 m but demand the highest precision on difficult floors.
The N-165EL serves the lower class: 18.5 m working height at just 0.76 m width, 500 kg load capacity. The model of choice for 18 m-class narrow-aisle warehouses and for assembly work in existing storage structures too tight for standard machines.
Magni ES series – performance for medium to great heights
With the ES series, Magni brings machines with generously dimensioned platforms and modern control technology.
The ES3225RT reaches 32 m working height with a platform size of 8.30 m × 6.20 m and 1,000 kg load capacity – the highest load capacity in Luibl's entire high-rack rental fleet. Ideal for logistics halls with heavy conveyor equipment.
The ES2223RTP (22 m working height, 7.65 m platform length, 750 kg) and the ES2212 (22 m, 6.10 m platform, 600 kg) cover the medium height class.
PB Lifttechnik – reliable all-rounders in the 22 m and 32 m classes
PB machines, built in the Netherlands, offer a consistently high safety standard in compact dimensions. The PB S320-14ES 4×4 (32 m working height, 7.65 m platform, 750 kg, 1.20 m machine width) is one of the most sought-after machines in the portfolio. In the 22.5 m class, the models PB 225-12E (450 kg) and PB 225-12ES (450–600 kg) are available.
HAB – wide choice across all height classes
HAB rounds out the portfolio with machines in three height classes. The HAB S320-12E 4WDS (32.4 m, 600 kg) and the HAB S280-12E 4WDS (28 m, 600 kg) cover the upper range. In the 22.5 m class, models with 600 kg are available, and – in the heavy-duty version HAB S225-24 – with 750 kg load capacity.
Applications: who needs high-rack scissor lifts
Intralogistics and warehouse planning. Maintenance of conveyor technology, sprinkler systems and lighting above active storage areas. What matters here is that the machine doesn't block the storage layout and can navigate between racking.
E-commerce logistics. High-throughput distribution centres with automated storage and retrieval technology need regular maintenance intervals at great height. The combination of narrowness and load capacity is indispensable in this segment.
Cold stores and deep-freeze warehouses. Special hydraulic oils and low-temperature batteries enable operation below zero degrees. Luibl advises on which models are suitable for which temperature classes.
Industrial halls – lighting, ventilation, fire protection. Tall production halls with narrow column spacing need slim machines. Installing or maintaining lighting systems, sprinkler heads, or ventilation ducts at 25 m and above is hardly efficient without high-rack scissor lifts.
Stocktaking. Narrow-aisle scissor lifts can be moved along entire rows of racking without lowering the platform. This makes systematic stock checks of the top storage levels significantly faster.
Floor loading: what needs to be clarified before renting
High-rack scissor lifts from 28 m working height upward have a dead weight of 8 t to just under 24 t. In high-bay warehouses, industrial floors are designed for specific area loads, not for concentrated point loads.
The following points should be clarified before renting:
-
Permissible point load of the hall floor (kN/m² or t/m²) – manufacturer's certification or structural calculations are usually held by the building owner
-
Aisle width in the usable area – the clear dimension between racking uprights, not the module width
-
Ceiling height and clearance for the platform in its fully extended state
-
Floor condition – epoxy resin, sealed concrete, concrete slabs – relevant for choosing the tyres
Luibl advises on machine selection based on these parameters. For complex sites, a technician can assess the operating conditions on site beforehand, on request.
Why Luibl for high-rack scissor lifts
Luibl is not the only scissor lift rental company in Germany and Austria. But in the segment of specialist high-rack equipment from 22 m upward, a portfolio of this depth from a single provider is comparatively rare.
Rental fleet. Holland Lift, Magni, PB Lifttechnik and HAB across all relevant height classes – generally young machines with documented maintenance history.
Logistics. High-rack scissor lifts from 28 m upward are among the heaviest and bulkiest equipment in the fleet. Luibl transports them with its own fleet of low-loaders – across Europe. That means no dependence on subcontractors for time-critical project deliveries.
Consultation. Technical preparation – floor loading, aisle width, load capacity requirements – is more involved for high-rack equipment than for standard machines. Luibl clarifies these points in advance, so the machine is right the first time it's deployed.
Training. Anyone operating a high-rack scissor lift for the first time needs an induction. Luibl offers training for all equipment types – including specifically for high-rack scissor lifts.
