Rent telescopic boom lifts in Duisburg: 14 to 56.90 m in four steps

Rent telescopic boom lifts in Duisburg: 14 to 56.90 m in four steps

For work on hall roofs, crane runways, warehouses, silos and facades in Duisburg, you can rent telescopic boom lifts from us with 14.00 to 56.90 m working height, up to 27.43 m horizontal outreach and up to 454 kg platform capacity. In a city with Rhine and Ruhr ports, steelworks and former mining land, height alone rarely decides: drive, ground and the approval of the site owner also determine which of our 26 models fits.

We therefore guide you to the right machine in four steps. Delivery is from our location in Passau.

Rent telescopic boom lifts in Duisburg: the right model in four steps

The selection follows a fixed order, because each step narrows down the next. Only when height and outreach are fixed is it clear how heavy the machine will be, what area it needs and whom you have to ask beforehand.

  1. Working height and outreach derived from the task

  2. Drive chosen according to location: hall, port or plant

  3. Set-up position and ground checked

  4. Approvals obtained from the plant, port, city or heritage authority

With these four details we suggest a model that fits the task and the set-up position.

Step 1: the Duisburg task determines the working height and outreach of the telescopic boom lift

The table assigns typical tasks in Duisburg to the models in our rental fleet. All values are taken from the machines' data sheets.

Hall roof, roof light, gutterwarehouse and logistics halls in Rheinhausen and NeuenkampHaulotte H14TX (14.00 / 10.30 m), Genie S-45 (15.72 / 11.18 m), Genie S-65 (21.80 / 17.10 m)

Outreach counts when the lift cannot get close to the object

On quay walls, track systems and embankments, the lift often stands several metres away from the object. So measure two values: the height of the work position and the horizontal distance from the possible set-up position to it. With both values we read the model's reach diagram. The largest horizontal outreach in the fleet belongs to the Genie SX-135XC with 27.43 m.

Platform capacity: 227 to 454 kg depending on the model

Two people with tools quickly weigh more than 200 kg. If a welding machine, glass panes or components are added, you need more capacity in the platform. Twelve of our telescopic boom lifts carry 400 kg or more, eight of them 454 kg, including the Genie S-45XC, S-85XC and SX-135XC.

Step 2: hall, port or plant decide the drive of the telescopic boom lift

The location determines whether you work with electric, hybrid or diesel drive. Of our 26 telescopic boom lifts, 22 run on diesel, three are electric and one is hybrid.

Electric and hybrid for logistics and production halls

In closed halls, for example in the logistics centres in Rheinhausen or in factory halls, exhaust fumes and noise are disruptive. For these there are the Zoomlion ZT18JE-Li (20.60 m), ZT21JE-Li (22.95 m) and ZT26JE (28.70 m). They produce no local emissions during operation. The Genie S-60 FE (20.60 m) combines electric and diesel drive and is suitable when you work indoors and outdoors. For jobs lasting several days, clarify where the machine can be charged overnight.

Diesel for quay facilities, plant roads and building plots

Outdoors and on extensive port and plant areas you work with diesel drive. All models above 30 m working height run on diesel, from the Genie S-105 to the SX-180. On plant sites there are often specific rules for combustion engines and for potentially explosive areas. Ask the operator about these requirements before you choose a model.

Step 3: the Duisburg ground must carry the telescopic boom lift

The higher the lift, the heavier it is. Our telescopic boom lifts weigh between 5,900 kg (Haulotte H14TX) and 24,856 kg (Genie SX-180). During work this weight is concentrated on the wheels or tyre contact areas. In Duisburg there are three types of ground you should check particularly carefully before use.

Backfilled port and plant areas

Many areas on the Rhine and Ruhr have been backfilled over decades, partly with slag and rubble. Beneath them there may be utility lines, ducts or old foundations. Keep a distance from quay edges and embankments and ask the landowner about the permissible load. Where the load-bearing capacity is unclear, load plates or excavator mats spread the weight.

Former mining areas in Walsum, Hamborn, Homberg and Rheinhausen

In several districts hard coal used to be mined. On such areas near-surface cavities or subsidence may occur. Whether there are indications for a plot can be found out from the mining authority, in North Rhine-Westphalia the Arnsberg district government. For large machines over 20 t this information is worth obtaining before planning.

Rhine foreland and dykes

The Rhine meadows in Homberg, Baerl and Rheinhausen are a flood area and remain soft for a long time after flooding. Only drive on dykes with the consent of the dyke operator. For work near the bank, the five lightest models with 5,900 to 8,600 kg are suitable, including the Genie S-45XC and Zoomlion ZT18JE-Li.

Step 4: obtain approvals for telescopic boom lifts in Duisburg in good time

Anyone setting up a telescopic boom lift in Duisburg needs, depending on the location, the consent of a third party. Plan these approvals before the delivery date, because without them the machine may not work.

  • Plant site: registration with the plant including the dimensions and weight of the machine, instruction according to the plant rules, a work permit if required.

  • Port areas: coordination with the port operator or the tenant of the area, above all because of crane traffic, tracks and lorry handling.

  • Public roads: special use permit and traffic order from the city of Duisburg. In streets with trams or light rail, clarify the clearance to the overhead line or a shutdown with the transport operator.

  • Monuments: for work in the Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord, on the warehouses at the Inner Harbour or on the Salvatorkirche, for example, coordinate with the owner and the lower heritage authority.

Transport from Passau: telescopic boom lifts for Duisburg, the Lower Rhine and the western Ruhr

We deliver from our location in Passau. It is around 700 km to Duisburg, mainly via the A3. We agree the delivery date and unloading point with you. For models above 40 m we recommend an early request, because transport and permits require more planning.

Tell us the delivery address, access, unloading point and a contact person on site, and on plant and port sites also the relevant gate. We also deliver telescopic boom lifts to Oberhausen, Muelheim an der Ruhr, Moers, Krefeld, Essen and Duesseldorf, as well as to Dinslaken and Wesel.

Duties when using telescopic boom lifts in Duisburg

As the employer you bear responsibility for the safe operation of the rented lift. Two duties apply to every job.

Train operators under DGUV Principle 308-008 and authorise them in writing

A telescopic boom lift may only be operated by someone who is trained and authorised in writing by the company. The standard for training is DGUV Principle 308-008. Instruction for the specific site is required by section 12 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (ArbSchG) and section 12 of the Industrial Safety Regulation (BetrSichV). Via certified partners we provide information free of charge and without obligation: training via certified partners.

Risk assessment under section 3 BetrSichV for the site

Before use you assess the hazards at the set-up position. In Duisburg these often include wind over the Rhine, quay edges, tracks, crane traffic and overhead lines. The assessment determines barriers, rescue concept and, where necessary, a safety lookout. In the platform the operators secure themselves with a harness attached to the lift's anchor point.

Request a telescopic boom lift for Duisburg

Tell us the task, working height, distance to the work position, platform load, location and ground. We will then suggest the right model. You will find more machines for the city under construction machinery rental in Duisburg, all models in the telescopic boom lifts category.
