Near the airport, clarify heights and consents early

If the site lies in the protected construction zone of Munich Airport, consents from the aviation authority may be required for tall machines. Clarify this with your site management before planning a large lifting height. On business and plant sites, the operator's access and safety rules also apply.

With a work platform a telehandler brings people to the facade, roof edge or hall ceiling. This pays off when material is also being lifted on the same site and the machine is on site anyway. The platform must be approved for the respective model, and the driver needs additional level 2b under DGUV Principle 308-009.

In the district of Erding, agriculture, municipal depots and municipalities with their own building projects shape demand. On peat and soft clay, wheels and outriggers sink in and the machine can tilt. Plan a compacted site road and load distribution plates under the outriggers and check the set-up position again after rain.

On paved hall floors the permissible surface load counts. The electric telehandler MT 625e fits there: it is 1.81 m wide and produces no exhaust fumes on site.

A telehandler may only be driven by someone who is at least 18 years old, suitable, trained and authorised in writing by the employer (DGUV Regulation 68, section 7).

Which level under DGUV Principle 308-009 your attachment requires

Forks and bucket on a fixed telehandler require level 1. For roto telehandlers and for load hook or winch in crane mode, additional level 2a is added, for the work platform additional level 2b. The familiarisation at handover does not replace this training.

Risk assessment and instruction in the company

Before use, the employer assesses the hazards under section 3 of the Industrial Safety Regulation (BetrSichV), in Erding for example soft fen soils, overhead lines above fields and pedestrians in the old town.
