Rent telescopic boom lifts in Hannover – strong performance for great heights

When the task demands reach, the telescopic boom lift is the tool of choice. It approaches the working point directly, without the detour of an articulating joint, opening up the lateral distance that is decisive in warehouse construction, steel assembly and façade renovation. A telescopic boom lift does not replace every other type of platform. It plays to its strengths wherever lateral reach and direct access to the working point matter – on large façades, on high warehouse roofs, and on large construction sites with long working distances.

Maximum reach and working height

Telescopic extension is the DNA of this design: a single extendable boom brings the platform to the working point precisely and quickly. Compared with articulated boom lifts, there's no need to swing around obstacles – if the path is clear, the telescopic boom lift is the more efficient choice.

What's available in the rental fleet – with specific models:

• Haulotte H 14TX: 14 m working height, 230 kg load capacity, platform for up to 2 people, 35% gradeability – compact class for maintenance in medium-sized warehouses.

• Genie S-45: 16 m working height, 227 kg load capacity, 35% gradeability, permanently active oscillating axle system, traction control and integrated diagnostic system for fast on-site fault diagnosis.

• JLG 660SJ: 22 m working height, 227 kg load capacity, 45% gradeability – proven class for steel construction and medium-sized industrial warehouses.

• Haulotte H 28TJ+: 28 m working height, 350 kg load capacity, platform for up to 3 people – ideal for façade and warehouse assembly with two fitters plus tools.

• JLG 1200SJP: 38 m working height, 450 kg load capacity, platform for 3 people, 360° basket rotation, Tier 4 engine – reaches full height in around 95 seconds, which saves minutes on time-critical maintenance jobs.

• JLG 1350SJP: 43 m working height, 450 kg load capacity, 45% gradeability, four-wheel drive with four-wheel steering and oscillating axle.

• Genie S-125 and larger specialist classes: For shipyards, industrial chimneys and large warehouses, the rental fleet includes telescopic boom lifts with working heights from 43 m up to 58 m and lateral reach of up to 28 m.

Three values are decisive for selection: working height, lateral reach (lateral load chart) and basket load. We provide the load charts for each model together with the rental machine – they determine how much tooling and material is permitted at which reach position.

Off-road capability and four-wheel-drive power

As soon as the telescopic boom lift leaves paved ground, chassis geometry becomes critical. Diesel telescopic boom lifts in the Luibl rental fleet come with four-wheel drive as standard, and many models additionally feature four-wheel steering and an oscillating axle.

What this means in typical Hannover deployment scenarios:

• Oscillating axle system: Keeps the boom vertical even on uneven ground – relevant on development sites around Lehrte, Sehnde and the Garbsen logistics park.

• Four-wheel steering: Three steering modes (front axle, four-wheel, crab steering) – crucial in tight manoeuvring situations between existing buildings.

• Differential lock and traction control: Provide traction even on wet or soft ground – for example during landscaping work or in the outdoor areas of industrial sites.

• Gradeability up to 45%: Copes with construction site ramps and steeply inclined access roads without assistance.

• Diesel Stage V engines: Meet current emissions requirements – relevant for deployments in Hannover's city centre and for tenders that define Stage V as a minimum requirement.

Luibl fits Stage V engines to diesel telescopic boom lifts in its current rental fleet. A few older specialist models may deviate from this standard – model-specific data sheets clarify this on a case-by-case basis.

Electric telescopic boom lifts for indoor use

Direct diesel operation is standard outdoors. Inside buildings – at the exhibition grounds in Laatzen, in food production, the pharmaceutical industry and clean-room logistics – emission-free solutions are mandatory.

• Electric telescopic boom lifts: Purely electric drives for longer indoor work without noise or exhaust fumes.

• Bi-energy models: Diesel for travelling to site, electric for operation inside the building on the same day – useful for mixed renovation projects.

• Non-marking tyres: Protect sensitive warehouse floors, exhibition carpets and screed surfaces.

In practice, an articulated telescopic boom lift is often used indoors instead, as it can manoeuvre between suspended lighting trusses or conveyor systems. We'll clarify which design is the better choice for your building layout during a consultation.

The Hannover region brings together four very different deployment contexts for telescopic boom lifts – each with its own demands on the machine.

Logistics cluster on the A2 and A7: The large logistics areas around Garbsen, Lehrte, Langenhagen and Sehnde are characterised by tall buildings with wide spans. Maintenance on ventilation ducts, sprinkler systems and lighting is carried out here from telescopic or articulated boom lifts, because the maintenance points need to be approached laterally over the racking systems.

Industrial construction in Stöcken and Misburg: At the major industrial sites – Continental, the VW commercial vehicle plant, the mineral oil industry in Misburg-Anderten – maintenance and assembly work at heights of 20 to 40 m occurs regularly. Diesel telescopic boom lifts with 28 m to 43 m working height are the standard solution here.

Trade fair construction at the Laatzen exhibition grounds: For time-critical build-ups and take-downs, speed and zero emissions are key. Models such as the JLG 1200SJP impress here thanks to reaching full height in around 95 seconds – relevant when dozens of positions have to be worked through in a single shift.

Steel warehouse and noise-barrier construction in the surrounding area: When erecting warehouse roofs, steel structures and noise barriers along the motorways, telescopic boom lifts with long lateral reach are used – they allow work to be carried out from outside the structure, without scaffolding and with minimal repositioning effort.

Case study: During maintenance of an industrial facility in Hannover's harbour, a working height of around 40 m with free positioning at the quayside was required. A diesel telescopic boom lift from the 43 m class with 450 kg basket load and four-wheel drive was allocated from the rental fleet. Since wind speeds in the harbour area occasionally exceed the permitted limits, an anemometer was included in the deployment plan: if the data-sheet limit was exceeded (typically 12.5 m/s for self-propelled units used outdoors), the basket was lowered and work was paused. Result: scheduled maintenance completed without any safety-related incidents.

A telescopic boom lift is a powerful machine – with corresponding safety responsibilities. For commercial use in Germany, the Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health (BetrSichV), DGUV Rule 100-500 and DGUV Information 208-019 on the safe handling of mobile elevating work platforms apply. In addition, an annual inspection to DIN EN 280 is required.
