Telehandler Rental in Ingolstadt: Choose the Type by Lift Height
For Ingolstadt, you rent telehandlers from a fleet of 64 models with 4.30 to 38.90 m lift height and 1,250 to 33,000 kg capacity. Assignments in the city range from halls of the automotive and supplier industry to residential construction in the districts and industrial plants in the north-east. Anyone choosing by capacity alone can easily end up with a machine that is too large or too short. So first assign your job to the required lift height, because this almost always determines the type: electric, fixed or rotating. Only for very heavy loads does capacity come first. The machines are delivered by low-loader from Passau. The Construction machinery rental in Ingolstadt page gives an overview of all machines for the city, and you can find all models in the Telehandlers category.
Telehandler rental in Ingolstadt: five height levels and one special case
Lift height narrows down the type most clearly. Fixed telehandlers cover 4.30 to 18.80 m; rotating machines start at 15.42 m and reach up to 38.90 m. Between 15.42 and 18.80 m the two overlap; there, the deciding factor is whether the superstructure needs to rotate.
| Lift height level | Type | Models and values in the rental fleet |
|---|---|---|
| up to 6 m | electric or small fixed | Manitou MT 625e: 5.85 m, 2,500 kg; fixed models from 4.30 m |
| up to approx. 10 m | fixed | Choice of 19 fixed models with 1,250–5,500 kg |
| up to 18.80 m | fixed | Merlo P 40.17: 16.70 m, 4,000 kg; upper limit of the fixed type 18.80 m |
| 18.80 to 25 m | rotating | Merlo Roto 75.25: 25.00 m, 19.50 m reach, 7,500 kg |
| up to 38.90 m | rotating | Magni RTH 6.39SH: 38.90 m, 27.00 m reach, 6,000 kg |
| Special case capacity | heavy-duty | 7 models, 9.40–11.92 m, 7,200–33,000 kg |
Attachments per height level
At the lower levels you usually work with a fork carriage or bucket. From the rotating level upwards, load hooks, cable winches and lattice jib winches are added, allowing the telehandler to lift loads like a crane. The work basket turns the machine into an aerial work platform. All five rentable attachments can be found under Telehandler attachments.
Up to 6 m: electric telehandlers for Ingolstadt halls and yards
At the lowest level, available space matters more than height. The Manitou MT 625e lifts 2,500 kg to 5.85 m and reaches 3.40 m forwards. At 3.83 m long, 1.81 m wide and 1.92 m high, it fits through many hall doors and works without exhaust at the point of use.
This is useful in production and storage halls such as those operated by suppliers in the freight village in north-west Ingolstadt. On large plant sites such as the Audi plant in Ingolstadt, the plant regulates access and the use of external contractors itself; register the machine and low-loader there in advance. For yards where a diesel engine is not a problem, the smallest fixed telehandlers from 4.30 m are also an option. The Electric telehandlers category currently includes exactly this one model.
Up to approx. 10 m: fixed telehandlers for residential and commercial construction in Ingolstadt
For detached and terraced houses, garages and single-storey halls, a medium-sized fixed telehandler is usually sufficient. It places pallets of blocks or bricks on the scaffolding and backfills excavations with the bucket. The 19 fixed models carry 1,250 to 5,500 kg.
Capacity decreases with outreach
The peak value from the data sheet only applies close to the machine. The further the boom extends, the less the load may weigh; the load chart in the cab shows the limits. So plan according to the heaviest item at the greatest distance, not according to the maximum value.
Ground conditions in the districts
In the south-west, Ingolstadt borders the Donaumoos; in the north, the terrain rises towards the Jura foothills. On freshly backfilled building plots and soft ground, the wheels need a load-bearing track. Lay out site roads so that the machine can drive safely even when loaded.
Up to 18.80 m: fixed telehandlers for multi-storey construction in Ingolstadt
Multi-storey residential and office buildings call for the upper half of the fixed type. The Merlo P 40.17 lifts 4,000 kg to 16.70 m and reaches 12.50 m. With an operating weight of 10,630 kg, it puts significantly less load on the ground than the 24,000 kg Magni of the top level.
Fixed machines do not rotate: to supply another side of the scaffolding, the driver repositions. On sites with space all round the building this is no disadvantage, but in tight gaps between buildings it is. The tallest fixed models in the rental fleet reach 18.80 m. If the target is higher or the machine has to stay in one position, move up to the next level.
Above 18.80 m: rotating telehandlers in Ingolstadt up to 25 m and up to 38.90 m
Above the fixed type, rotating telehandlers work with a rotating superstructure. They stand stabilised in one position and slew the load in a circle, similar to a mobile crane. The rental fleet includes 37 rotating models with 4,000 to 8,000 kg capacity.
Up to 25 m: Merlo Roto 75.25
The Merlo Roto 75.25 reaches 25.00 m lift height, 19.50 m reach and 7,500 kg capacity. At 28,000 kg, it is the heaviest rotating model in the rental fleet. It is suitable for hall roof structures, facade elements and moving loads over a building. With a load hook or cable winch, it takes over many lifts that would otherwise require a mobile crane.
Up to 38.90 m: Magni RTH 6.39SH
The top level is covered by the Magni RTH 6.39SH: 38.90 m lift height, 27.00 m reach and 6,000 kg capacity. Dimensions of 8.60 × 2.54 × 3.12 m and a weight of 24,000 kg require a wide access route and a load-bearing surface for the outriggers. In the old town inside the Glacis, you need a special use permit from the city for this; if space is too tight, consider a mini crane in Ingolstadt.
Special case heavy loads: choose telehandlers in Ingolstadt by capacity
For very heavy parts, the order is reversed: the weight is fixed first, height is secondary. The seven heavy-duty telehandlers lift 7,200 to 33,000 kg to 9.40 to 11.92 m. Automotive and mechanical engineering shape Ingolstadt's industry; this class is in demand when relocating tools, machines or plant modules.
The decisive factor is where the load's centre of gravity lies. If it is further forward than assumed in the data sheet, the permissible load decreases; so have the dimensions and weight of the part determined in advance. Also check whether the hall floor, door and route can bear the total weight of machine and load. On industrial plants in the north-east of the city, the rules of the respective operator also apply.
Transport to Ingolstadt: telehandlers from Passau by low-loader
Around 190 km lie between our Passau site and Ingolstadt. The low-loader travels via Regensburg and sets the machine down directly at the construction site. How delivery and collection are organised is explained on the Transport page.
The higher the level, the larger and heavier the machine: from the MT 625e at 4,800 kg to the Merlo Roto 75.25 at 28,000 kg, the requirements for access and unloading area change considerably. So when enquiring, state how wide the entrance is and whether there are bridges or underpasses with weight or height restrictions along the way.
We also deliver to Gaimersheim, Manching, Koesching, Wettstetten and Grossmehring. Neuburg an der Donau, Kelheim, Freising, Regensburg and Munich have their own pages.
Who drives telehandlers in Ingolstadt: obligations under DGUV and BetrSichV
DGUV Vorschrift 68 applies to telehandlers. Under § 7, only persons who are at least 18 years old, suitable, trained and authorised in writing by the employer may drive. Training is based on DGUV Grundsatz 308-009.
Training levels to match the type
-
Level 1: basic training for fixed telehandlers
-
Additional level 2a: rotating machines and crane operation with load hook or winch
-
Additional level 2b: use with work basket
Anyone working with a rotating machine at the upper height levels therefore needs more than basic training. The risk assessment under § 3 BetrSichV records which risks exist at the site. Instruction under § 12 BetrSichV and § 12 ArbSchG relates to the specific machine and the specific construction site.
If a level is missing, we can put you in touch with a certified training provider; details can be found under Training via certified partners. For work carried out purely from the basket, a telescopic boom lift can also be the simpler solution.
