Rent Telescopic Boom Lifts in Dresden
Whether a sandstone facade in the old town, a Gruenderzeit building in the Neustadt or a residential tower in Prohlis: for work in Dresden you can rent 26 telescopic boom lifts from Luibl Rental, the smallest with 14.00 m, the largest with 56.90 m working height. Which model fits depends strongly on the urban area in Dresden. Between the Elbe meadows, narrow Neustadt streets with overhead lines and plant sites in the north, ground, set-up area and permits change from site to site. We therefore select the lift according to your location and deliver it from our location in Passau.
Rent telescopic boom lifts in Dresden: which model suits which urban area
The table shows which model group from our fleet of telescopic boom lifts suits typical work in the individual Dresden urban areas. In each case, the manufacturer's reach diagram remains decisive.

| Large estates Prohlis and Gorbitz | facades, windows and balconies on residential towers | working height above 30 m, wind | Genie S-105 (34.00 m) to SX-180 (56.90 m) |
| North of Dresden with plants and halls | hall roofs, building services, facades | site rules, no exhaust fumes in halls | Zoomlion ZT18JE-Li, ZT21JE-Li, ZT26JE (electric), Genie S-60 FE (hybrid) |
Telescopic boom lifts in the Dresden old town: outreach saves space and protects the monument
Between the Frauenkirche, Neumarkt, Zwinger, Residenzschloss and Semperoper, many work positions lie behind barriers, open staircases or green areas. A telescopic boom lift with a large horizontal outreach then stands on the carriageway or a load-bearing square and reaches the facade over the obstacle. The largest outreach in the fleet belongs to the Genie SX-135XC with 27.43 m at 43.15 m working height. The S-85XC achieves 22.71 m outreach at 27.91 m working height.
Clarify special use and heritage protection before the delivery date
Anyone setting up a telescopic boom lift on public ground needs a special use permit from the state capital Dresden and, if necessary, a traffic order. On cultural monuments you also coordinate the work with the heritage protection authority. Allow enough lead time, because the lift may not be set up without a permit.
Historic paving and vaults: have the surface load checked
Beneath old squares and courtyards there are often cellars, utility lines or vaults. Large telescopic boom lifts weigh between around 17 and almost 25 t, the SX-180 for example 24,856 kg. Have it clarified in advance what load the surface can take, and lay load distribution plates underneath. If the load-bearing capacity is insufficient, a lighter model with shorter outreach is the better choice.
Telescopic boom lifts in the Dresden Neustadt: compact models between Gruenderzeit buildings
In the Outer and Inner Neustadt the buildings stand close together, the streets are narrow and often parked on both sides. For facades, gutters and dormers on four- to five-storey Gruenderzeit buildings, 14 to 22 m working height is usually sufficient. The Haulotte H14TX with 14.00 m and 5,900 kg and the Genie S-45 with 15.72 m and 7,005 kg are the smallest and lightest models in the fleet.
Tram overhead lines: plan and agree the clearance
Above many streets in the Neustadt and the rest of the inner city hang the tram's overhead lines. The platform must not come too close to them. Agree work near the overhead line early with Dresdner Verkehrsbetriebe (DVB), which decides on clearances, protective measures or a shutdown. Record in the risk assessment who monitors the clearance during work.
Inner courtyards: measure the passage and set-up area beforehand
Many Neustadt buildings have backyards that can only be reached through a gateway. Measure the width and height of the passage and the free area in the courtyard and compare them with the dimensions in the data sheet. If no lift fits through, a model with sufficient outreach can often work from the street.
Telescopic boom lifts on the Elbe: ground and water level determine the set-up position
Elbe meadows, riverside paths and bridgeheads are frequent locations, for example for work on railings, street lights, embankment walls, trees or event technology. As a set-up position for an aerial work platform, however, these areas are only suitable to a limited extent.
Elbe meadows: light lifts and load distribution
The Elbe meadows lie in the flood area; after rain or high water levels the ground is soft. Light models such as the H14TX, S-45, S-45XC, S-60 FE and ZT18JE-Li with 5.9 to 8.6 t dead weight put less load on it. Access route and set-up position should be reinforced or laid with plates; consent for use is given by the owner of the area. Check the Elbe water level shortly before the job, because the meadows cannot be used during flooding.
Elbe slopes in Loschwitz and Weisser Hirsch: outreach instead of access
On the Elbe slopes, villas and gardens lie on steep, narrow streets. A telescopic boom lift needs a set-up position within the permissible inclination stated in the data sheet. It is often safer to set the lift up below on level ground and work with outreach, for example with the Genie S-85 with 23.32 m outreach and 27.90 m working height.
Telescopic boom lifts for residential towers in Prohlis and Gorbitz: models from 34 m
In the large estates of Prohlis and Gorbitz, facades, windows, balconies and roofs of prefabricated buildings are being refurbished. Small lifts are no longer sufficient on the taller buildings. For these, the fleet includes eight models with 34.00 to 56.90 m working height, from the Genie S-105 to the Genie SX-180.
Platform load and wind at great height
The large models carry 340 to 454 kg in the platform, enough for two people with tools and material such as window elements or insulation boards in small quantities. At great height the wind is stronger. Only operate the lift up to the wind speed permitted by the manufacturer and stop work in gusts.
Secure residents, pavements and parking spaces
In inhabited estates people walk past beneath the work position. Cordon off the area under the platform and the slewing area of the superstructure. Agree set-up areas and closed parking spaces with the housing company and, for public areas, with the city.
Telescopic boom lifts in the north of Dresden: plants and halls set the rules
In the north around Klotzsche, the airport and the semiconductor plants there are industrial and commercial areas with large halls. The operator's rules apply there: registration, induction, defined routes and often requirements on the drive. Clarify these before your request so that we can suggest the right model.
Working electric or hybrid in halls
Indoors, the Zoomlion ZT18JE-Li (20.60 m), ZT21JE-Li (22.95 m) and ZT26JE (28.70 m) produce no exhaust fumes on site during operation. The Genie S-60 FE (20.60 m) has a hybrid drive. Check the load-bearing capacity of the hall floor, the door width and a charging option in advance.
Outside on facades and roofs with diesel
For facades, roof structures and ventilation equipment on the outside of tall halls, the diesel models are suitable; 22 of the 26 lifts have this drive. They also work on gravel and unpaved plant areas, provided the ground carries the weight.
Transport of the telescopic boom lift from Passau to Dresden
From our location in Passau it is around 470 km to Dresden via Regensburg, the A93, the A72 and the A4. The lift arrives on a low-loader. At the site the lorry needs a sufficiently large, load-bearing area for unloading, in the old town and Neustadt usually with a no-stopping zone. By arrangement we also deliver to the surrounding area, for example Radebeul, Freital, Pirna, Heidenau or Meissen. For jobs in western Saxony you will find our telescopic boom lifts for Chemnitz, for smaller lifting tasks in Dresden the mini crane Dresden.
Operator duties for telescopic boom lifts in Dresden: DGUV Principle 308-008
A telescopic boom lift may only be operated by someone who is trained, instructed and authorised by the employer to do so. The basis of training is DGUV Principle 308-008; instruction is required by section 12 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (ArbSchG) and section 12 of the Industrial Safety Regulation (BetrSichV).
Risk assessment under section 3 BetrSichV for Dresden locations
The employer assesses the hazards before use. In Dresden these are particularly tram overhead lines, pedestrians and visitors in the old town, soft ground and flooding on the Elbe, wind on high-rise buildings and plant traffic in the north. The rescue of a person from the platform must also be planned.
Operator licence and IPAF PAL Card via certified partners
The familiarisation with a model at handover does not replace training. Your employees obtain proof such as the operator licence or the IPAF PAL Card from a certified training provider. We provide information on training via certified partners free of charge and without obligation and put you in touch with a suitable provider.
