Rent construction machinery in Salzburg – rental fleet for earthmoving and height access

Construction sites in Salzburg place particular demands on machine technology: narrow old-town lanes under UNESCO protection requirements, industrial areas in Itzling and Liefering, refurbishments on the Mönchsberg and large-volume building projects in the Flachgau. Anyone planning earthworks, height access or material handling here needs a rental fleet that is available at short notice and regularly inspected in accordance with the Austrian Work Equipment Ordinance (AM-VO). Compact and crawler excavators for civil, road and building construction

The Bobcat E85 with an 8,500 kg total weight reaches almost 7 metres digging height and delivers the tear-out force needed for undisturbed ground. For demanding earthworks, crawler excavators with a monoblock arm or hydraulic offset boom are available. Gradeability of up to 35 degrees and travel speeds of 5 to 6 km/h allow use even in the hilly locations around Bergheim or Hallein.

Wheel loaders for material handling and bulk loading

At building-material yards, recycling depots or for earthmoving with bulk material, wheel loaders are the tool of choice. The rental fleet covers yard loaders and wheel loaders with various bucket capacities – suited to sand, gravel, crushed stone or topsoil. For operating aerial work platforms and telehandlers in Austria, the Work Equipment Ordinance (AM-VO) applies: it governs suitability assessment, instruction and recurring inspection. Operators require a documented induction and suitability; for telescopic forklifts, a forklift licence in line with AUVA requirements is additionally needed.

German contractors working in Salzburg must additionally observe the DGUV Principles 308-008 (telescopic forklifts) and 308-009 (aerial work platforms) as well as the BetrSichV – particularly relevant for internal plant documentation towards the responsible employers' liability insurance association.

Rental contracts are governed by the lessor's general terms and conditions. ÖNORM B 2110 may become relevant as a supplementary reference for construction contracts at the higher project level, but does not govern the rental relationship itself.

The following points should be prepared before machine handover:

• Access checked: load-bearing capacity, clearance height, turning radius for the low-loader

• Set-up area defined: level, load-bearing ground; for telehandlers, the outrigger area cleared

• Operator credentials available: forklift licence, AM-VO instruction, IPAF/PAL card if applicable

• Insurance status clarified: machinery breakdown insurance via the lessor or your own construction insurance

• Handover protocol ready: meter reading, damage and fuel level are documented by both parties
