Telescopic boom lift rental in Landshut for old town, castle hill and industry

Telescopic boom lift rental in Landshut for old town, castle hill and industry

For work in Landshut we rent out 26 telescopic boom lifts with 14.00 to 56.90 m working height and 10.30 to 27.43 m lateral outreach. In the city, Gothic brick churches, town houses from several centuries, the castle on the Hofberg and newer residential and commercial buildings stand side by side in a confined space. Each of these building eras demands something different: sometimes there is no set-up area, sometimes the eaves lie behind an extension, sometimes the building stands on a slope. The suitable lift therefore results from the building type, not from height alone. Below we assign the telescopic boom lifts in our rental fleet to Landshut's building eras. Delivery is from Passau by low-loader. Further machines for the city are shown on the page Construction machinery rental in Landshut.

Telescopic boom lift rental in Landshut: the building era determines the model

Older Landshut buildings are usually lower but stand closer together and behind front structures; newer buildings are taller and freely accessible. For old buildings, outreach in relation to weight therefore counts; for new buildings, rather the pure working height. Heights and outreaches in the table are taken from the manufacturer specifications of our models.

Gothic churches in Landshut: telescopic boom lifts for nave, roof and tracery

At the city's large churches, a rental lift reaches the roof zone and the windows, but not the tip of the tower. The tower of St. Martin measures a good 130 m and is considered the tallest brick tower in the world. The Heilig-Geist-Kirche (Church of the Holy Spirit) at the end of the Altstadt is also one of the buildings where height and distance are needed at the same time.

Nave and roof surface

In front of Gothic walls there are often buttresses, extensions or green spaces, so the lift cannot drive right up to the wall. The Genie SX-135XC combines 43.15 m working height with 27.43 m lateral outreach, the largest boom in our rental fleet. For ridges and tower bases, the Genie SX-150 with 48.33 m and the SX-180 with 56.90 m are available.

Protecting brick and ashlar

St. Martin is built predominantly of brick in lime mortar; portals and tracery are made of ashlar. The platform must not rest against such surfaces, and material for stone replacement places additional load on it. The SX-135XC carries 454 kg in the platform, the JLG 1350SJP 450 kg. Coordinate work on listed monuments in advance with the owner and the responsible heritage authority.

Town houses in Altstadt and Neustadt: compact telescopic boom lifts for gables and eaves

In the two historic streets, lifts up to around 22 m working height are usually sufficient; the set-up position is decisive. The Altstadt is a street space around 700 m long, about 30 m wide over long stretches and roughly half pedestrian zone. The Neustadt was created parallel to it towards the end of the 13th century, and numerous lanes connect the two.

Facades facing the street

For gables, cornices and windows, the Haulotte H14TX with 14.00 m working height and 5,900 kg weight is often sufficient. If the eaves of a taller house are needed, the Genie S-65 and JLG 660SJ offer over 21 m height and more than 17 m outreach. For set-up in public space you need a special use permit from the city, and for monuments additionally coordination with the heritage authority.

Lanes and rear sides

In the connecting lanes it is narrower than in the main street. There, outreach helps more than height: the Genie S-45 reaches 11.18 m to the side, the S-45XC 11.02 m. Have the paving and possible cavities beneath it assessed in advance before a machine weighing several tonnes stands on it.

Plan around the Landshut Wedding

The historic festival takes place every four years in summer, and the procession passes through the Altstadt on several Sundays. The next edition is planned for 2027. You should schedule facade work in this area early.

Castle hill and slopes: telescopic boom lifts with outreach instead of access

On the Hofberg you rarely get the lift right up to the structure, so the boom bridges the distance. Trausnitz Castle sits on a steep spur above the Altstadt; at 505 m the Hofberg is the highest point in the city area. The Fuerstentreppe leads up from the town, a brick path that is unsuitable for machines.

The southern districts are also bounded by a chain of hills. Choose a level, paved set-up position there and work with outreach to the building: the Haulotte H28TJ Plus reaches 22.60 m to the side, the Genie S-85 23.32 m. The Trax versions S-65 Trax and S-65XC Trax weigh 12,269 and 13,154 kg. The permissible inclination is stated in the respective operating manual, not in a rule of thumb. For the Hofgarten east of the castle, clarify access and set-up position with the owner.

Post-war and housing estate buildings in Landshut: telescopic boom lifts for roof and facade

Multi-storey residential buildings outside the historic core usually need 25 to 29 m working height and a free set-up area in front of the building. Landshut is divided into eleven districts, from Nikola and West to Achdorf and Muenchnerau, and in many of them such buildings stand next to older development.

Gutters, balconies and facade insulation

The Manitou 260TJ offers 25.91 m working height with 19.70 m outreach, the Manitou 280 TJ 27.73 m with 21.45 m. With the Genie S-85XC and its 454 kg platform load, insulation boards and tools can also be taken along. If you need to limit noise in a residential environment, consider the Zoomlion ZT26JE with 28.70 m, which works locally emission-free in operation.

Green spaces and Flutmulde

North of the Isar lies the Flutmulde, a park that is flooded during high water. Lawn and softened ground will not carry a lift of 16 to 18 t without load distribution. Do not plan work there immediately after a flood, and define the travel routes beforehand.

Halls and new buildings in Landshut's commercial areas: electric indoors, diesel outdoors

In halls the drive counts, on new buildings outdoors the height. Commercial businesses in Landshut are found, among other places, in the Industriegebiet district and in the Messepark, which was created in 2003 on the site of the former Schoch barracks. For the industrial area at Landshut-Nord and the plant environment on Ergolding land there is a separate page: Telescopic boom lifts in Ergolding.

Indoors: no exhaust fumes at the work site

The Zoomlion ZT18JE-Li (20.60 m), ZT21JE-Li (22.95 m) and ZT26JE (28.70 m) run on electricity. The Genie S-60 FE also reaches 20.60 m as a hybrid. Ask about the hall's floor load and door width in advance, because even the lightest electric lift weighs 8,600 kg.

Outdoors: height for new buildings and facade installation

For tall new buildings outdoors, diesel models over 38 m are available: JLG 1200SJP with 38.73 m, Genie SX-125XC with 40.10 m and JLG 1350SJP with 43.30 m. Their platform load of 450 to 454 kg is suitable for installation work with material.

Transport of telescopic boom lifts from Passau to Landshut and the surrounding area

From Passau it is around 120 km via the A3 and the A92 to Landshut. We deliver by low-loader and need an area at the construction site where the vehicle can stop and the lift can be driven off. In the pedestrian zone of the Altstadt, clarify the unloading point with the city beforehand.

We also supply the neighbouring municipalities of Altdorf, Kumhausen and Essenbach. There are separate pages for further locations: Ergolding, Moosburg an der Isar, Telescopic boom lifts in Dingolfing and Freising. If loads rather than people need to be lifted, a mini crane in Landshut is the alternative. Details on delivery can be found under Transports.

Obligations when using telescopic boom lifts in Landshut

Anyone operating a telescopic boom lift must be trained for it and commissioned by the employer. DGUV Grundsatz 308-008 is decisive. An operator card or the IPAF PAL Card serves as proof.

Before the job, you prepare a risk assessment in accordance with § 3 BetrSichV, for example on wind load, fall edges and traffic in the street space. The instruction of employees is governed by § 12 ArbSchG and § 12 BetrSichV. On handover we explain the operation of the specific model; this cannot replace training. We provide free, non-binding information about training via certified partners.

Frequently asked questions about renting telescopic boom lifts in Landshut

chevronDown

Which telescopic boom lift is enough for facades in Landshut's old town?

For most townhouses, platforms up to around 22 m working height are sufficient. The Haulotte H14TX reaches 14.00 m at a weight of 5,900 kg; the Genie S-65 and the JLG 660SJ reach over 21 m and more than 17 m to the side. The decisive factor is usually where the machine may stand, not the height.

Can a rental platform reach the tower of St. Martin?

No, the top of the tower is a good 130 m high and therefore far above any aerial work platform. Our highest telescopic boom lift, the Genie SX-180, reaches 56.90 m working height. This allows work on the nave, roof zone, windows and lower tower areas, provided the owner and the heritage authority agree. For distance from the wall, the SX-135XC offers 27.43 m outreach.

Do I need a permit in Landshut for the platform on the street?

Yes, if the platform stands on public ground, you generally need a special use permit (Sondernutzungserlaubnis) from the city. For listed monuments, coordination with the heritage authority is also required. Submit the application in good time and state the dimensions and weight of the model, which we provide with the quotation.

How far is the transport from Passau to Landshut?

The route is around 120 km via the A3 and the A92. We deliver the telescopic boom lift by low-loader and collect it again after the rental period. At the site, we need an area for stopping and unloading; in the pedestrian zone, the unloading point should be clarified with the city beforehand.

Are there locally emission-free telescopic boom lifts for work in halls?

Yes, three electric models from Zoomlion with 20.60, 22.95 and 28.70 m working height produce zero local emissions during operation. In addition, there is the Genie S-60 FE hybrid platform with 20.60 m. Check the door width and floor load beforehand, as the electric platforms weigh between 8,600 and 17,600 kg.
