Rent aerial work platforms and construction machinery in Nitra

Aerial work platforms and construction machinery follow a calendar in Nitra that exists nowhere else: the harvest year. The city of around 76,000 inhabitants is the centre of Slovakia's agricultural and food industry, and to that are added an automotive plant with its network of suppliers and a large exhibition site. Grain silos, drying plants, cold stores and processing operations can only be serviced outside the campaign, exhibition halls only between two events. Both mean the same thing: tight, fixed time windows in which the equipment has to be standing ready for use.

A silo cell, a dryer tower or an elevator is narrow and tall. The fitting answer is boom machinery. Articulating boom lifts work at 10.89 to 48.15 m working height with 150 to 450 kg platform capacity; the diesel version reaches 11.91 to 48.15 m and, with its all-wheel chassis, also copes with yard surfaces that are not paved throughout. The articulated arm sets the basket against the silo wall over the top of plant components, without the machine having to stand underneath. For free-standing structures at great height, telescopic boom lifts with 14.00 to 56.90 m reach the furthest up. Where only a narrow passage remains between plant components, or where the ground will not take high point loads, spider lifts with 13.00 to 39.50 m are the alternative.

In processing operations, cold stores and ripening warehouses, what applies everywhere in food production applies here as well: no exhaust fumes, no oil traces, no residues on the floor — combustion engines are ruled out. Electric scissor lifts with 6.30 to 33.00 m and 227 to 1,000 kg cover evaporators, cooling ceilings, pipe and cable runs and lighting; for small plant rooms, mast lifts with 10.00 to 12.65 m are sufficient. In dry stores with racking systems, high-rack scissor lifts with 18.50 to 33.00 m are the machines of choice.

The second point is the calendar. Intake, drying and storage run within a few weeks around the harvest; during that period no plant stands still. Cleaning, inspection and conversion work is concentrated in the months before and after — with the consequence that many operations in the region register their requirements at the same time. On works yards with unpaved ground, diesel scissor lifts with 9.70 to 34.00 m and up to 1,134 kg platform capacity take over.

Telehandlers are the most versatile piece of equipment on agricultural sites: rigid models lift 4.30 to 18.80 m at 1.25 to 25 t and bring plant components to the installation point; rotating telehandlers with 15.42 to 38.90 m work all around from a single set-up, which is what tips the balance on cramped yards between silos and halls. Inside the building, electric telehandlers with 5.85 to 30.00 m are ready for use.

Excavators cover 1.8 to 30 t — small for service and drainage trenches, large for the excavation pits of new storage buildings. In materials handling, forklifts from 3 to 16 t round out the fleet, as rough-terrain forklifts on unpaved yard surfaces.

Slovak law applies to plant maintenance in Nitra — regardless of where the machine was rented. Vyhlaska MPSVR SR 508/2009 Z. z. classifies power-driven mobile work platforms with a lifting height of more than 1.5 m as a zdvihacie technicke zariadenie skupiny A and therefore as a vyhradene technicke zariadenie. From this follow official inspections (uradne skusky, and recurring opakovane uradne skusky), documentation duties and formal requirements for the qualification of the operators. The framework is set by NV SR 392/2006 Z. z. and the occupational safety act 124/2006 Z. z.; machine testing follows STN EN 280.

For a maintenance window this means: the records have to be in place at the start of the window, not halfway through it. The machine-side documentation and the tracking of inspection intervals come from us. What remains with the operator is the risk assessment for the specific installation, proof of qualification and the instruction of the operators, and in food businesses additionally the coordination with the hygiene concept. In silos and dryers there are further requirements for dust explosion protection and confined spaces, which belong in the same assessment.

The city's exhibition site sets the second rhythm. Assembly and dismantling run within tightly set periods between two events: hall services, lighting, trusses and stand construction have to be finished within a few days, and the same applies in reverse for the dismantling. What is called for are manoeuvrable machines that serve several work points one after the other — compact electric scissor lifts for hall ceilings, mast lifts for stand construction and signage, and articulating or telescopic boom lifts on the open-air grounds.

Decisive in planning terms: delivery before the assembly window begins, collection after it ends, and a number of machines that carries the window instead of consuming it through repositioning runs.
