The right rental machine for every Frankfurt construction project

Construction sites in Frankfurt demand different machine profiles. In Sachsenhausen, every centimetre of clearance width counts; in the Höchst industrial park it's about tonnage and reach; at the trade-fair grounds it's about speed of setup and dismantling. Our rental fleet is positioned accordingly.

Earthmoving: excavators and wheel loaders for civil engineering and sewer construction

Our mini excavators are ideal for underground cable-laying work in the city centre or landscaping projects in Bornheim. The Yanmar SV18 offers a 1,975 kg operating weight, 3.76 m digging height and adjustable undercarriage – allowing it to pass through gateways under one metre wide. That's enough for the sanitary trench behind the old building. In the compact class, the Bobcat E35, E50 and E85 cover professional earthworks. The Bobcat E85, with 8,500 kg and 6.98 m digging height, also handles compacted soils and foundation excavations of the kind involved in renovations in Frankfurt's existing neighbourhoods. For large-scale projects – such as the expansion of the data-centre sites around Höchst and Fechenheim – heavy Doosan crawler excavators are available:

  • Doosan DX-140LC-5: 14 t operating weight, 8.75 m digging height, 8.53 m lateral reach. An entry point into the professional class for road and sewer construction.
  • Doosan DX-235LC-5: 22.8 t, 9.56 m digging height, 9.88 m reach. A workhorse for infrastructure projects.
  • Doosan DX-300LC-5: 30.9 t, 10.41 m digging height, 11.07 m reach. The heaviest crawler excavator in the rental fleet – predestined for deep excavations and loading onto dump trucks.

All excavators meet current emissions standards and are therefore also suitable for City of Frankfurt tenders and projects in environmentally sensitive zones. Wheel loaders and attachments such as buckets, hydraulic hammers or forks complement the range on request.

Height access: aerial work platforms for the skyline and data centres

Frankfurt is the undisputed data-centre hotspot of Europe. Projects such as the Cloud HQ campus or the Telehouse extension require aerial work platforms that fit through server aisles and don't damage raised floors. Our electric scissor lifts are specially designed for this: often under 0.80 m wide, emission-free and with non-marking tyres. For façade work on high-rise buildings in the Westend or the banking district, all-terrain diesel scissor lifts with working heights of up to 34 m are available. Anyone who needs to work over obstacles – for example during trade-fair setup or assembly work in factory halls – reaches for telescopic and articulating boom lifts with working heights of up to 58 m. Specific models from the Frankfurt rental fleet:

  • JLG Liftlux 245-25 (scissor lift): 26.50 m working height, 750 kg load capacity, 7.80 m platform.
  • JLG 1500AJP (articulating boom lift): 48.15 m working height, 23.55 m lateral outreach – the answer to complex maintenance work in the skyline.
  • Manitou 120 AETJ-C 3D (electric articulating boom lift): 11.95 m working height, 7.00 m reach – emission-free, suitable for indoor use.

Lifting technology: telehandlers as a crane alternative

Roto telehandlers are the most flexible answer in Frankfurt's construction logistics when a conventional mobile crane would be too bulky. With lifting heights of up to 39 m and a 360° slewing turret, they handle material transport, work-basket use and crane functions with a cable winch – all with the same machine, without setup times. For heavy loads, the Manitou MHT 10200 with a 20,000 kg load capacity is available. Fixed telehandlers remain the workhorse on tighter construction sites.

Heavy-duty handling: forklifts up to 16 tonnes

For logistics centres at FRA Airport or transhipment in Frankfurt-Fechenheim, we stock counterbalance forklifts with electric, gas and diesel drives. Heavy-duty forklifts with a load capacity of up to 16 tonnes cover industrial use, while rough-terrain forklifts work on unpaved ground. High-lift stackers complete the range for warehouse logistics.

Frankfurt rental fleet: compact, emission-free, heavy-duty-capable

Frankfurt poses contradictory requirements: In inner-city locations, building regulations demand consideration for noise and emissions, while at the same time the scale of the projects often calls for heavy-duty equipment. Our rental fleet covers both. For the low-emission zone and sensitive buildings – old buildings in Sachsenhausen, server rooms in Rödelheim, cleanrooms in chemical plants – electric aerial work platforms, electric telehandlers and electric forklifts are available. This equipment operates emission-free and with reduced noise levels, which makes permits and neighbourhood compatibility easier. On the heavy-duty side, heavy-duty telehandlers (up to 20 t load capacity), mobile cranes and mini cranes as well as high-bay scissor lifts with working heights of 22 m, 28 m and 33 m are available – the latter particularly in demand in the logistics centres around the airport. Spider lifts with over 50% gradeability round off the portfolio for rough terrain.

Full service for Frankfurt: delivery, maintenance, training

A rental machine is only as good as the service behind it. In Frankfurt, site managers rely on three criteria: punctual delivery, verified safety, qualified operators.

Our own low-loader fleet. We are not dependent on third-party hauliers. This means: delivery windows are kept, even when trade-fair setup, an Eintracht match day or airport congestion complicates logistics. We deliver throughout the city area – Frankfurt City, Westend, Höchst, Fechenheim, FRA Airport – and to the surrounding area in Offenbach, Hanau, Eschborn and Bad Homburg.

UVV inspection included. Every machine that leaves our rental fleet is inspected in accordance with DGUV regulations. Hydraulics, brakes, safety systems – everything documented. For long-term rentals, we take care of the annual UVV inspection directly, with no additional effort for you.

Operator training in accordance with IPAF. For self-propelled aerial work platforms, the IPAF/PAL card is required on many Frankfurt construction sites. We offer appropriate training for aerial work platforms, telehandlers and forklifts – also for your own employees, not just for rental customers. The legal basis is the BetrSichV and DGUV Principle 308-001, 308-008 and 308-009. On-site service. Breakdowns on the construction site cost money. Our technical support is quickly on site and gets the machine back into operation. For longer projects, you can order one of our technicians directly to the construction site via the technician request.

Why rent instead of buy? For 80% of projects, purchasing your own construction machine cannot be economically justified. Maintenance, UVV, insurance, parking space and tied-up capital add up. Luibl takes care of all this – you pay only for the actual operating time and always stay technically up to date with the fleet.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions About Construction Equipment Hire in Frankfurt

chevronDown

How much does it cost to hire an excavator in Frankfurt?

Hire costs depend on excavator type, hire duration and transport requirements. A mini excavator is more cost-effective than a 30-tonne tracked excavator, and long-term hires of a week or more are significantly cheaper per day of use than daily hires. Through our network, we offer competitive rates across the Rhine-Main region. For a concrete quote, just tell us the machine type, site location and planned duration – you'll receive a tailored, transparent quote with no hidden costs.

Are the machines insured and safety-inspected?

All hire machines undergo a safety inspection under German DGUV regulations before every hire. Details on liability cover and excess are clarified in the hire contract – transparently and with no small print. For long-term hires, the annual re-inspection is already included in many packages.

Which equipment is suitable for work in Frankfurt data centres?

For data centres, we recommend emission-free electric scissor lifts with non-marking tyres. Many models are under 0.80 m wide and fit through narrow server aisles. On request, we'll provide exact figures on floor loading and point loads to ensure the structural safety of raised floors.

What are the service hours in Frankfurt?

Our team is available Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm. During this time we coordinate deliveries, servicing and consultations for the Rhine-Main region.

How is equipment delivered to a site in Frankfurt?

We deliver with our own fleet of low-loaders across the whole city and surrounding area. We serve densely built districts such as Sachsenhausen, Bornheim or the station quarter just as reliably as the Höchst Industrial Park, Messe Frankfurt or Frankfurt Airport (FRA). Delivery is coordinated to match your start date exactly – just tell us the date and time.

Do my employees need training or a special licence?

For aerial work platforms, operator instruction is required under BetrSichV, usually to IPAF standard with a PAL Card. For truck-mounted platforms, a class B or C/CE driving licence is needed depending on the weight class. For forklifts, the forklift licence in accordance with DGUV Principle 308-001 applies. We offer all relevant training – also as an in-house session at your location.
