Telehandler Rental in Landshut: Four Planning Examples
In Landshut you can use telehandlers from our rental fleet of 64 models covering 4.30 to 38.90 m lift height and 1,250 to 33,000 kg capacity. The city makes considerable demands when lifting: narrow historic streets, the Isar with the Muehleninsel, hillside locations in the south and halls in commercial areas. However, the maximum values of a telehandler never apply simultaneously, because the permissible load decreases as the outreach increases. Which machine fits is therefore only shown by the load chart. Below, we work through four typical Landshut tasks as a planning path, from the weight to the type to the check points in the chart. We deliver all telehandlers from Passau. An overview of further machines is given on the page Construction machinery rental in Landshut.
Telehandler Rental in Landshut: Three Figures Lead to the Type
For every lifting task you need three values: the weight of the load including pallet or lifting accessories, the height of the set-down point and the outreach, i.e. the horizontal distance between machine and load point. With these values, you choose the type and then check in the load chart whether the model may carry the load at exactly this point.
| Type | Models | Lift height | Capacity | Typical task in Landshut |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| rigid | 19 | 4.30–18.80 m | 1,250–5,500 kg | Shell construction in the districts, material onto the scaffolding |
| Roto | 37 | 15.42–38.90 m | 4,000–8,000 kg | Roof work in the Altstadt and Neustadt, lifting over obstacles |
| Heavy-duty | 7 | 9.40–11.92 m | 7,200–33,000 kg | Machines and heavy components in commercial premises |
| Electric | 1 | 5.85 m | 2,500 kg | Halls and interiors |
How to read the load chart
The chart shows lift height and outreach as axes, with areas of permissible load inside. The rated capacity from the brochure only applies close to the machine. Every additional metre of outreach moves your load point into an area with lower load. A separate chart applies to outriggers, slewing operation and each attachment.
Example 1: Telehandler in Landshut for Roof Tiles on an Old Town House
The task: pallets of roof tiles are to be placed on the eaves of a townhouse, with the machine standing on the street in front. The Altstadt is around 30 m wide over long stretches, and about half of it is a pedestrian zone.
From weight to roto machine
First determine the weight of the pallet, then the eaves height and the distance from the set-up position to behind the roof edge. Because the load is set down over the pavement and canopy and several roof areas have to be served, the choice falls on a roto: it slews the upper carriage instead of repositioning the entire machine. The Magni RTH 6.39SH measures 8.60 × 2.54 m and weighs 24,000 kg; for narrow spots, smaller roto models from 15.42 m lift height offer space.
What counts in the outrigger chart
Check the load point in the chart for operation on outriggers with forks. If it lies outside the permissible range, shorten the outreach or split the pallet. The extended outriggers need additional width, which must be included in the city's special use permit. For listed buildings, coordinate the project with the monument protection authority.
Example 2: Rigid Telehandler for a Shell Construction on the Southern Slope
The task: bricks and formwork parts are to be lifted onto scaffolding for a residential building; the plot lies at the edge of the range of hills bordering Landshut's southern districts.
Planning path without slewing
The load is approached from one side, and the scaffolding is freely accessible. A rigid telehandler is sufficient and lighter than a roto. The Merlo P 40.17 offers 16.70 m lift height, 12.50 m outreach and 4,000 kg capacity at a dead weight of 10,630 kg.
Check points on a gradient
The 4,000 kg only apply with the boom retracted. Read off in the chart what is still permissible at the outreach to the scaffolding edge, and choose the pallet size accordingly. The chart assumes a level position: compensate for the incline with the levelling system and build a load-bearing site road before lifting.
Example 3: Heavy-Duty Telehandler for a Machine in a Landshut Hall
The task: an installation is to be brought in through the hall gate and placed on a foundation. Commercial areas in Landshut include the Industriegebiet district and the Messepark on the former site of the Schoch barracks. For the plant environment at Landshut-Nord, please see the page Telehandlers in Ergolding.
Here, weight decides, not height. The heavy-duty telehandlers lift 7,200 to 33,000 kg to 9.40 to 11.92 m. In the chart, check the load at the outreach to the foundation and take into account that the centre of gravity of a machine is often not in its middle. Also clarify floor load, gate height and route in the hall.
If the job is connected with a trade fair, ask the organiser which machines are permitted in the halls and at what times lifting is allowed. Plan the lift so that nobody stands under the suspended load and the driver can see the set-down point.
Light components up to 2,500 kg in interiors are handled by the Manitou MT 625e. It is 1.81 m wide, lifts up to 5.85 m and operates without exhaust at the job site.
Example 4: Roto Telehandler with Winch on the Isar Bank in Landshut
The task: a component is to be placed over a bank edge at a point by the water. The Isar divides Landshut into a northern and a southern part, with the Muehleninsel in between.
Long outreach, suspended load
If the bank edge cannot be driven on, the load must be extended far out and guided on the hook. Large roto models with load hook or cable winch are suitable for this. The Merlo Roto 75.25 offers 25.00 m lift height and 19.50 m outreach, the Magni RTH 6.39SH 27.00 m outreach.
Chart for crane operation
For hook operation, a separate chart applies, which you check with outreach and hook height. Include the weight of the lifting accessories. The Merlo Roto 75.25 weighs 28,000 kg, so the ground on the bank and in the flood channel north of the Isar must be assessed beforehand. Coordinate work on the water with the owner of the area and the responsible authority.
Also keep an eye on the water level: the flood channel is flooded during high water, and waterlogged ground then carries less. Therefore set the lifting date with a buffer and check the set-up position again on the day of the job.
Attachments for Telehandlers in Landshut
With the right attachment, a telehandler takes over tasks that would otherwise require a second machine. Available for rent:
-
Bucket for bulk material and excavated soil
-
Work platform for people at height
-
Load hook for slung loads
-
Cable winch for suspended loads with greater lift height
-
Lattice jib winch for additional outreach on the hook
Every attachment changes the permissible load; this applies to all four examples above. Anyone lifting people in the work platform also needs training level 2b as a driver, and the platform must be approved for the respective model. An overview is shown in the Attachments category. For pure work at height, a lift is often the simpler solution, see Telescopic boom lifts. For lifting work in confined spaces, a mini crane in Landshut is an option.
Delivery of Telehandlers from Passau to Landshut
Around 120 km lie between Passau and Landshut, travelling via the A3 and the A92. The low-loader needs access on site and an area for unloading, which is correspondingly large for big roto models. If the telehandler is to be unloaded in the Altstadt or Neustadt, the unloading area must be included in the application to the city.
We also deliver to Altdorf, Kumhausen and Essenbach. There are separate pages for Ergolding, Telehandlers in Dingolfing, Telehandlers in Erding and Moosburg an der Isar. Read more about the process under Transport.
Obligations for Telehandler Drivers in Landshut
DGUV Vorschrift 68 applies to the driver: under § 7, they must be at least 18 years old, fit and trained, and authorised in writing. Training is based on DGUV Grundsatz 308-009. Level 1 covers rigid telehandlers, additional level 2a roto and crane operation, additional level 2b use with a work platform. For examples 1 and 4, you therefore need level 2a.
The risk assessment under § 3 BetrSichV covers set-up position, ground and load path. Instruction is based on § 12 BetrSichV and § 12 ArbSchG. On handover, we provide instruction on the rented model; the driver's qualification remains the responsibility of the company. We will gladly put you in touch with a certified training provider; more on this under Training through certified partners.
