Rent aerial work platforms and construction machinery in Trnava

Demand for aerial work platforms and construction machinery in Trnava is concentrated in an area you cannot see from the outside: the space between the top of the racking and the hall roof. The city, with around 64,000 inhabitants, is home to an automotive plant and an extensive supplier park, plus electrical engineering and logistics. Whatever is maintained or retrofitted there is almost always overhead work — lighting strips, sprinklers, ventilation ducts, conveyor systems, racking installations. The choice of machine therefore depends less on working height than on set-up width, outreach and the question of whether there is any space at all beneath the work position.

Modern production and storage halls in the supplier park are between 10 and 14 m high, larger logistics buildings considerably more. Smoke extraction systems, ventilation ducts and electrical routes run beneath the roof — equipment that has to be inspected, cleaned and extended regularly, often while the hall remains in operation.

The standard machine for this is the electric scissor lift with 6.30 to 33.00 m working height and 227 to 1,000 kg platform capacity. The high platform capacity is no luxury: anyone installing lighting strips, pipe sections or duct segments takes material up with them. Diesel machines are ruled out inside the hall and are used outdoors only, there as diesel scissor lifts with 9.70 to 34.00 m.

If there is a machine, a block of racking or an occupied area beneath the work position, only lateral outreach helps: Articulating Boom Lifts reach out over the obstacle with 10.89 to 48.15 m, and the electric series with 10.89 to 28.00 m remains suitable for indoor use. For maintenance in sales, testing and office areas that stay in use, Mast Lifts with 10.00 to 12.65 m are sufficient.

A different constraint applies in the warehouse sections of the supplier companies. The aisles between high-bay racking are designed for forklift width, not for construction machinery — a standard scissor lift does not fit. For that there are High-Rack Scissor Lifts with 18.50 to 33.00 m working height, 450 to 1,000 kg platform capacity and a narrow track: rack inspection, repairs to cross beams, retrofitting shelf levels, rack lighting, sprinkler heads on the racking levels.

For conveyor technology above the aisles — roller conveyors, sorters, overhead conveyors — Articulating Boom Lifts come into play again, because the floor beneath the installation stays occupied. For crane runways, roof trusses and roof-mounted equipment, Telescopic Boom Lifts with 14.00 to 56.90 m also cover large logistics halls, while Spider Lifts with 13.00 to 39.50 m handle peripheral areas without a paved access route. In racking aisles, machine width, the clearance height under cross beams and the turning circle at the end of the aisle count just as much as working height and platform capacity.

Racking parts, duct segments and plant modules have to reach the right place before assembly. Telehandlers manage this without setting up a crane: fixed models with 4.30 to 18.80 m lifting height and 1.25 to 25 t, Roto models with 15.42 to 38.90 m for all-round work from a single set-up position, and inside the hall Electric Telehandlers with 5.85 to 30.00 m.

At the loading ramp, in the warehouse and in pre-assembly, Counterbalance Forklifts from 3 to 16 t are at work, electric models indoors; High-Lift Stackers with 2.70 to 5.50 m lifting height round out order picking. For hall extensions and utility lines, excavators from 1.8 t to 30 t are available.

Aerial work platforms are subject to their own inspection regime in Slovakia. Under Vyhlaska MPSVR SR 508/2009 Z. z., a motor-driven pojazdna pracovna plosina with a lifting height of more than 1.5 m counts as a zdvihacie technicke zariadenie skupiny A and therefore as a vyhradene technicke zariadenie; official inspections (uradne skusky, and recurring opakovane uradne skusky) with the corresponding documentation are mandatory. In addition, NV SR 392/2006 Z. z., the occupational safety act 124/2006 Z. z. and STN EN 280 apply.

With overhead work a second level comes into play that does not depend on the machine: fall protection in the platform, protection against falling parts, cordoning off the area beneath the work position, coordination with hall operations. That belongs in the risk assessment of the company carrying out the work, as do operator qualification and instruction. What comes from us is the machine-side documentation — inspection record, CE documentation, operating manual — together with the tracking of inspection intervals and maintenance history.

Trnava lies in the flat Danube Lowland. For machine deployment that is an advantage: works and yard areas are level and load-bearing, set-up points can be found almost anywhere, and gradients hardly matter. The effort lies elsewhere — the sites are large, and the route from the unloading point to the work position can be several hundred metres.

Two things follow from this. The unloading point should be close to the work position so that the machine does not have to cross half the site on traffic routes used by forklifts and trucks. And where work is carried out on several halls, one additional machine pays off — repositioning time inside the plant costs more than the second rental item.

For scheduling, the proximity to Bratislava is favourable: deliveries run along the same route as trips to western Slovakia, which makes it easier to bundle transports.
