Rent forklifts in Erfurt: 53 models for warehouse, plant, construction and trade fair

For forklifts in Erfurt we have 53 models available, from the high-lift stacker with 1,200 kg to the heavy-duty forklift with 33,000 kg capacity and up to 6.07 m lifting height. The jobs below do not strictly follow this order, because in practice the types mix: a warehouse relocation often needs electric forklifts and high-lift stackers at the same time, an agricultural business diesel outdoors and gas in the hall. Where the load has to go higher than 6.07 m, a telehandler in Erfurt helps.

For a warehouse relocation or rack conversion in the Erfurt freight village (GVZ), we usually suggest electric forklifts. They work in the hall without exhaust fumes on site, and with 22 models between 1,500 and 10,000 kg capacity almost every pallet load fits. For narrow aisles between the racks, high-lift stackers with up to 5.50 m lifting height supplement the machine.

Check the residual capacity at the top rack level

The rated capacity only applies up to a certain lifting height and a defined load centre. The higher the forks go, the less they may carry. So tell us the weight of the heaviest pallet and the height of the top level, and we will check the residual capacity in the data sheet.

Plan charging in shift operation

If the warehouse runs two or three shifts, one battery charge is not always enough. Clarify in advance where the forklift can charge and whether there is a power connection nearby. For long shifts we agree with you which model with which battery fits.

Anyone moving a press, a machine tool or a plant component in the industrial area at the Erfurter Kreuz often needs more than 10 t capacity. For this, 7 heavy-duty forklifts with 8,000 to 33,000 kg are available; the most powerful is the Kalmar DCG 330-12T.

State load centre and fork length

Machines rarely have their centre of gravity in the middle. If it lies further forward on the forks, the permissible load decreases considerably. Send us the weight, dimensions and, if available, the position of the centre of gravity from the manufacturer's documentation so that we can choose a model with sufficient reserve.

Measure door, hall floor and route in advance

A heavy-duty forklift is wide, tall and heavy. Measure the width and height of the doors, check the permissible surface load of the hall floor and define the route from the unloading point to the installation area. Diesel machines in closed halls require a risk assessment with regard to ventilation. In many plants, their own rules for registration and access also apply.

On construction sites in Erfurt's Gruenderzeit quarters the forklift rarely stands on smooth concrete. For gravel, sand and compacted ground we recommend one of our 4 all-terrain forklifts, the Manitou M30-4 and M50-4 as well as the Ausa C300H and C500H x4, with 3,000 to 5,000 kg capacity. Have access and parking area approved

In the Loebervorstadt and the Bruehlervorstadt streets are narrow and inner courtyards are only accessible through gateways. If lorries and forklifts occupy public areas, you usually need a permit from the city of Erfurt. If the unloading point is on a tram route, watch out for the overhead line.

On slopes, keep the load facing uphill

On sloping access routes the loaded forklift drives with the load facing uphill and with the forks lowered. Tell us about the gradient if it is noticeable, and we will take it into account in the selection.

For setting up an exhibition stand you usually need little capacity but a manoeuvrable machine without exhaust fumes in the hall. Compact electric forklifts from 1,500 kg and high-lift stackers from 1,200 kg are sufficient for stand construction, exhibits and pallets of material.

Whether your own forklifts may drive on the Messe Erfurt grounds is decided by the organiser. Clarify this before your request, as well as set-up times, delivery zone and the permissible floor load of the hall. With these details we plan machine and transport so that both fit the set-up window.

North of Erfurt, arable farming and large storage halls shape the Thuringian Basin. On these farms forklifts move seed, fertiliser in big bags and pallets of harvested produce. Outdoors we suggest diesel forklifts with 3,000 to 10,000 kg. If the machine constantly drives between yard and hall, a gas forklift can be the better choice. Whether it may be used in the hall is clarified by your risk assessment.

If the yard is unpaved or soaked after rain, for example in the Gera floodplain, an all-terrain forklift is safer. For bulk material with a bucket or loads above 6.07 m, a telehandler is the right machine.

A forklift in Erfurt may only be driven by someone who is at least 18 years old, trained and authorised in writing. This is required by section 7 of DGUV Regulation 68. Training follows DGUV Principle 308-001 and ends with a certificate of competence.
