Rent aerial work platforms and forklifts in Naples
For the port, industry and old town in Naples, Luibl Rental provides aerial work platforms, forklifts and telehandlers for rent – delivered with our own low-loader fleet directly to the job site. The capital of Campania has around 900,000 inhabitants, the metropolitan area on the gulf several million. Between steep hillsides, densely built districts and extensive commercial zones in the hinterland, hardly any job is like another. That is why you will first find the typical rental occasions in the region here, followed by the right equipment, the obligations under Italian law and delivery planning.
Naples' economy needs lifting equipment from the quayside to the hinterland
Demand in the greater Naples area is concentrated in a few clearly distinguishable zones.
Port and coast. Container ships, ferries to the islands and cruise ships call at the Porto di Napoli. Warehouses, workshops and terminals need forklifts for cargo handling and platforms for work on roofs, lighting and crane systems.
Industrial belt in the northeast. In Pomigliano d'Arco, a large car plant and aerospace companies manufacture, and further production sites are located around Acerra. Maintenance of production lines and hall equipment is the most common occasion here.
Logistics hubs Nola and Marcianise. With the Interporto Campano and the Interporto Sud Europa, two large freight villages are located in the hinterland. Electric forklifts often run in multi-shift operation there, and scissor lifts are used for racking installation and sprinkler work.
Urban regeneration. On the former steelworks site in Bagnoli and in the east around San Giovanni a Teduccio, where a university campus has been built, industrial land is being converted. At the same time, the metro is being extended and older buildings refurbished.
Trade fairs and events. Exhibitions and congresses take place on the Mostra d'Oltremare grounds in Fuorigrotta; maneuverable electric platforms are in demand for setting up and dismantling stands, trusses and lighting.
The yellow tuff stone (tufo giallo) from which many older buildings were constructed is typical of the city's building fabric. The soft stone and often centuries-old vaults make careful selection of set-up position and ground pressure essential during refurbishments.
Hillsides, alleys and height decide which aerial work platform suits Naples
The terrain in Naples is demanding: from the sea up to the Vomero the streets climb steeply, and in the Centro storico and the Quartieri Spagnoli there are often only a few meters between the houses. Three questions help with the selection.
How wide is the access? In narrow vicoli and courtyards, mast lifts or narrow electric scissor lifts do the job. They fit through building entrances and stand on a small footprint, for example when replacing lights in a church or fitting out a shop on Via Toledo.
Does the basket need to clear an obstacle? Balconies, awnings and canopies on multi-storey residential buildings are overcome by articulated boom lifts. Their jib guides the platform from the street over the projections to the facade.
How far away is the working point? For hall roofs in the port, advertising installations on commercial buildings or structures above tracks, telescopic boom lifts with long reach bring the basket to places that cannot be reached from a nearby set-up position.
In the level halls of the interporti, electric scissor lifts are usually sufficient; they run without exhaust emissions at the job site and carry several people plus material. The fleet comes mainly from Haulotte and Genie and is serviced to the manufacturer's specifications before every rental.
On sloping streets at Posillipo or in Capodimonte, we check in advance whether gradient and ground allow safe outrigger set-up. All-terrain diesel platforms with four-wheel drive are often the better solution there than a pure indoor machine.
Forklifts and telehandlers handle material flow in Naples
For pallets, mesh boxes and building materials, we rent out two groups of equipment in Naples.
Forklifts are available as electric machines for halls in Nola or Marcianise, as diesel models for port areas and as rough-terrain forklifts for unpaved construction sites. In the region's food businesses – from pasta makers to tomato processors – electric machines with non-marking tires are in demand.
Telehandlers combine lift height and forward reach. On new builds and roof refurbishments, they place material on floor slabs without a crane having to be set up. The Manitou MT 730 H handles 3,000 kg of load and 6.90 m lift height; we carry larger models from Manitou, Merlo and Magni.
If you need a platform and a telehandler at the same time, you receive both in one quote. Especially for facade refurbishments on hillsides, a coordinated equipment package saves maneuvering in tight spaces. You decide the rental period – from a short job for stocktaking to supporting a shell construction project throughout the entire construction period.
Anyone driving a platform or forklift in Naples needs an abilitazione
The legal situation in Naples follows the Italian Testo unico sulla salute e sicurezza sul lavoro (D.Lgs. 81/2008). Its Titolo III covers work equipment and therefore rental machines as well. For you as the hirer, this specifically means:
Mobile elevating work platforms (PLE) and ride-on forklifts may only be operated by persons holding an abilitazione under the Accordo Stato-Regioni of 17 April 2025 (art. 73 c. 5). Irrespective of this, the employer must instruct its employees on the specific machine (art. 73 c. 4). An IPAF certificate may be held in addition, but does not count as a substitute.
For platforms, Allegato VII prescribes an annual verifica periodica; the first is carried out by INAIL. Telehandlers must also be inspected annually.
If we rent without an operator, we confirm in writing at handover that the machine is in proper condition and obtain your self-declaration on the training of your operators (art. 72 c. 2). On site, we instruct your team in operation and emergency lowering. We do not provide personnel to drive the machines.
Delivery to Naples – with our own low-loader fleet directly to the job site
We handle transport ourselves, with our own low-loader fleet directly to the job site – in the city area, in the commercial zones along the Tangenziale and A1 or along the coast towards Pozzuoli and Castellammare di Stabia. Because many streets are steep, narrow or temporarily closed, we agree the approach, unloading area and date with you beforehand. For projects in other parts of southern and central Italy, you can also rent from us for Rome, Bari or Palermo.
You can find more about platform types and the factors behind the rental price in the overview Rent an aerial lift – all platform types at a glance.
