Rent Aerial Work Platforms and Forklifts in Padua
In Padua, Luibl Rental provides industry, trades and the construction sector with aerial work platforms, forklifts and telehandlers for rent and delivers them with its own low-loader. The city combines two contrasting worlds of work: extensive commercial areas in the east with smooth hall floors, and a medieval old town with arcades where every centimetre of clearance height counts. We show you which machines let you handle both situations safely, which obligations Italian law sets out and how a delivery in Padua works.
Padua combines a large industrial zone with a narrow old town
Padua has a good 200,000 inhabitants, plus tens of thousands of students at the university, one of the oldest in Europe. Economically, the city is shaped above all by the Zona Industriale in the east, one of the largest industrial and commercial areas in northern Italy. Mechanical engineering firms, electrical and metalworking companies, wholesalers and freight forwarders operate there; the Interporto with its rail terminal lies in the middle of the area.
The location favours the movement of goods: the A4 motorway connects Padua with Milan and Venice, and the A13 leads south towards Bologna. The Fiera di Padova brings trade fairs and congresses to the city, and the university hospital is one of the country's large hospitals.
In contrast stands the historic core: arcades line many streets, squares such as Piazza delle Erbe and Prato della Valle are pedestrian zones, and the churches and palazzi are listed monuments. For rental equipment, this means: in the Zona Industriale, performance counts; in the old town, dimensions and weight count.
In between lie residential districts and suburbs such as Vigonza, Rubano or Albignasego, where trade businesses, roofers and construction companies work. There, small to medium-sized machines are often in demand that can be parked on a trailer space or in a courtyard entrance.
In Padua's Zona Industriale, forklifts and scissor lifts are in demand
Warehouses, production halls and handling areas determine demand in the east of the city. Three equipment groups cover most tasks:
-
Forklifts handle the flow of goods. Electric forklifts are suited to halls and order picking, diesel forklifts to loading ramps and open storage at the Interporto, rough-terrain forklifts to building materials dealers with gravel yards.
-
Scissor lifts are the standard tool for building services and maintenance under hall roofs. Electrically powered, they work without exhaust emissions at the job site and carry the fitter, tools and material on a large platform.
-
Articulating boom lifts are used when pipelines, crane runways or machines block the direct route upwards. For work on hall facades and roof edges outdoors, they offer sufficient lateral outreach.
Many companies in the Zona Industriale combine several machines, for example two forklifts for relocating production and a platform for installing the new hall equipment. The platforms come mostly from Haulotte and Genie.
The Fiera di Padova north of the city centre also benefits from these machines: when exhibitions are set up and dismantled, stand builders work with compact scissor lifts on trusses and lighting, while electric forklifts move exhibits and pallets between delivery and stand.
For the old town, hospital and new builds in Padua, compact platforms and telehandlers are the right fit
Under the arcades of the old town, clearance height is limited, and in the courtyards of palazzi and university buildings there is often no room to manoeuvre. This is where mast lifts help: they are narrow, light and fit through doors and gates. For facades with cornices and balconies, a compact articulating platform that works over projections is suitable.
For work on large buildings such as hospital buildings, church roofs or infrastructure along the canals, telescopic boom lifts are the right choice, because their straight boom bridges great heights and long distances.
On construction sites in the city and suburbs, telehandlers support materials logistics. One machine from our rental fleet is the Manitou MT 730 H (3,000 kg load capacity, 6.90 m lifting height); it places pallets directly on the floor slab. We also carry telehandlers from Merlo and Magni, which also cope well in the hilly surroundings of the Euganean Hills.
A field of application of its own are the historic villas along the Brenta between Padua and Venice and the spa towns at the foot of the hills such as Abano Terme. When renovating roofs, facades and park trees at these estates, machines often have to stand on gravel, lawn or paved courtyards. Platforms with large-area outriggers or load distribution plates are suitable for this; we tell you the outrigger forces in advance so that you can assess the ground.
In Padua, Italian law governs who bears which obligation
Rental equipment in Padua is subject to D.Lgs. 81/2008 (Testo unico), in particular Title III on work equipment (attrezzature di lavoro). Three questions come up again and again:
Who may operate the machine? For aerial work platforms (PLE) and ride-on forklifts, art. 73 c. 5 requires an operator qualification (abilitazione) in accordance with the Accordo Stato-Regioni of 17 April 2025. IPAF cards are welcome as supplementary proof, but they do not take the place of the abilitazione.
What must the employer do in addition? Under art. 73 c. 4, the employer ensures appropriate, machine-specific instruction and training (formazione e addestramento) of its employees.
What does the rental company provide? For rental without an operator, under art. 72 c. 2 we certify the proper condition of the machine at handover and accept your self-declaration on the training of your operators.
In addition, there is the annual periodic inspection (verifica periodica) for aerial work platforms and telehandlers in accordance with Annex VII; the first of these inspections is carried out by INAIL. At every handover, we familiarise your employees with operation and safety functions. Operating personnel are not part of our offer.
This is how delivery to Padua works
- You tell us the location, machine and period.
- Together we clarify access, unloading area and possible restrictions, such as traffic restrictions in the old town or clearance heights under arcades.
- We bring the machine with our own low-loader fleet directly to the job site, familiarise your team with it and collect the machine again at the end of the rental.
If your company is also active in other locations, we deliver just as well to Venice, Verona or Bologna.
