Verona is a logistics hub – which is why forklifts come first

South of the city, the A4 motorway between Milan and Venice crosses the A22 heading north over the Brenner Pass. Right at this point lies the Quadrante Europa freight village, one of Italy's most important interporti, where road and rail meet. Around it, freight forwarders, food wholesalers and distribution warehouses have settled, along with the older ZAI industrial zone and business parks towards Villafranca Airport.

For these businesses we rent out forklifts in several designs:

  • Electric counterbalance forklifts for warehouses, cold storage areas and order-picking zones
  • Diesel forklifts for ramps, container yards and outdoor handling
  • Rough-terrain forklifts for gravel areas and site storage

Typical reasons for renting are seasonal peaks, the breakdown of your own vehicles, stocktakes or moving into a new warehouse. You decide the term, from a few days to several months.

The choice usually depends on three values: the weight of the heaviest load unit, the required lift height up to the top rack level and the floor surface. Anyone handling fresh or frozen goods from the food industry of the Po Valley should also look for electric drive and non-marking tyres so that the hall floor and goods stay clean. Give us these details and we will match mast, fork length and battery to your shift operation.

Aerial work platforms in Verona: from exhibition stand to warehouse

Veronafiere is one of Italy's major trade fair venues; events such as the Vinitaly wine fair or the Marmomacc natural stone fair attract exhibitors from all over the world every year. For setting up and dismantling stands, trusses and lighting, electric scissor lifts and mast lifts are ideal: they drive on hall floors without exhaust at the point of use, are manoeuvrable between the stands and quick to reposition.

In the logistics halls of the Quadrante Europa, you can also reach hall ceilings, sprinkler pipes and light strips with scissor lifts; for high racking systems and hall facades, articulating boom lifts come into play, with an articulated arm that reaches over canopies and extensions.

In the old town within the city walls, between Piazza Bra and Piazza delle Erbe, the streets are narrow and the facades are often listed. For work on gutters, shutters or lighting, compact articulating lifts are recommended. Tall industrial and infrastructure structures, for example along the Adige or on halls in the business park, are served by telescopic boom lifts with long reach. The Arena and other event venues also need equipment for lighting and stage set-ups; on sensitive historic paving, light machines with low ground pressure are required. The platforms in our rental fleet come mainly from Haulotte and Genie.

Winegrowing and marble around Verona call for telehandlers

North and east of the city lie the Valpolicella and Soave wine regions, and the Valpolicella valley is also home to quarries and businesses that process the reddish Verona marble. Both industries have similar requirements: heavy loads, uneven yards and changing work locations.

This is where telehandlers play to their strengths. With forks, bucket or crane hook they replace several individual machines, place stone blocks and slabs onto truck beds or lift wine pallets and tanks over obstacles. For medium loads, the Manitou MT 730 H, for example, carries 3,000 kg and lifts up to 6.90 m. For more demanding requirements we offer models from Merlo and Magni.

Construction firms in the surrounding area, from Lake Garda to the plain south of the city, also use telehandlers for shell construction and roofing. If you also need a platform for the facade, we combine both machines in one quote.

Operators in Verona need the Italian abilitazione

Whether warehouse or wine estate: Italian law applies to rental equipment in Verona, specifically D.Lgs. 81/2008 (Testo unico sulla salute e sicurezza sul lavoro) with its Title III on work equipment. Anyone operating an aerial work platform (PLE) or a forklift with a driver's seat at your company needs an operator qualification (abilitazione) under art. 73 c. 5, the content of which is laid down by the Accordo Stato-Regioni of 17 April 2025. An international IPAF certificate may be held in addition, but does not count as a substitute.

This does not discharge the employer's duty: they must also give their staff appropriate, machine-specific instruction (formazione e addestramento, art. 73 c. 4).

Our part is governed by art. 72 c. 2: for rental without an operator, we certify on handover that the machine is in proper and safe condition, and receive from you a self-declaration on the training of your operators. Aerial work platforms and telehandlers undergo an annual periodic inspection (verifica periodica, Allegato VII); the first inspection is carried out by INAIL. On site, we familiarise your team with the machine – we do not rent out drivers or machine operators.

Delivery to Verona with our own low-loader fleet

Every machine comes with our own low-loader fleet directly to the job site – to the hall in the Quadrante Europa, to the exhibition grounds, to the wine estate in Valpolicella or to the construction site on Lake Garda. For deliveries into the old town, we clarify access, unloading point and any truck restrictions in advance, because limited traffic zones apply within the city walls. At exhibition grounds we work to the organiser's set-up and dismantling times, on wine estates around the harvest, when yards and paths are particularly busy. When the rental ends, we collect the machine again – you do not have to worry about return transport. For projects in the neighbouring area, we also deliver to Brescia, Padua or Milan.

If you would like to compare platform types first: Rent a lifting platform – all platform types at a glance sets scissor lifts, articulating boom lifts, telescopic boom lifts, mast lifts, tracked platforms and truck-mounted platforms side by side and shows what determines the rental price.

Frequently asked questions about renting forklifts and aerial work platforms in Verona

chevronDown

How much does it cost to rent a forklift or aerial work platform in Verona?

That depends on the machine, load capacity or working height, rental period and job site. An electric forklift for a warehouse in the Quadrante Europa is priced differently from a telescopic boom lift for an industrial facade. With your key details, we will prepare a specific quote for you.

Is the rental machine delivered directly to my location in Verona?

Yes. We transport the machines with our own low-loaders right to the job site, whether a warehouse, exhibition grounds, winery or construction site. We agree the date and unloading area with you beforehand.

Who is allowed to operate forklifts and aerial work platforms in Italy?

Only operators holding an abilitazione under the Accordo Stato-Regioni of 17 April 2025; this is prescribed by art. 73 comma 5 of D.Lgs. 81/2008 for aerial work platforms and ride-on forklifts. In addition, the employer must instruct its staff on the respective machine. We provide an introduction at handover but do not provide personnel.

Is long-term rental also possible in Verona?

Yes. Logistics companies often rent forklifts for an entire season, construction companies rent telehandlers for the whole shell construction phase. We offer long-term contracts for this and, on request, combine several machines.

Which aerial work platform is suitable for trade fair set-up in Verona?

As a rule, an electric scissor lift or a mast lift. Both work in the halls with no exhaust emissions at the job site, are manoeuvrable and can be moved quickly between stands. Tell us the hall height and period, and we will reserve suitable machines.
